Historia
Jane Austen fan Amelia Bennett sneaks away from a dull tour of an English country manor, only to run into a man more dashing than Mr. Darcy himself. About to lose his ancestral home to family debts, charming aristocrat Tom Calder invites his American guest to join him in drinking his way through the estate’s priceless wine collection. But when they wake in his bed the next morning, they’re convinced that in their drunken haze they witnessed a murder. Problem is, the body has vanished and no one believes them.

Exceeded expectations
Revisado: 11-08-24
I have read many of the "cozy" mystery type novels, & some have been better than others. This one is actually going in the top 3 tier. Interesting, engaging. and with unexpected twists, I found myself staying up extra time, just in order to hear the next chapter. I have read Jane Austen, although not all of her works, but it was easy to get mental pictures and it made the storyline the more ..."real". It was rather enjoyable and I am glad I read it.

Ashley Perrin is fresh out of college and starting a job as a community liaison for the Third District–the city’s only sector with more alien residents than humans. Ashley’s barely found where the paper clips are kept when she’s beset with constituent complaints–from too much noise at the Annual Lupidian Celebration Parade to a trip-and-fall chicken to a very particular type of alien hornet that threatens the very city itself. And if that’s not terrifying enough, Ashley is next up at the office karaoke night.

fun, short but fast paced....enjoyable
Revisado: 10-07-24
I was surprised by the easy going story, which, i will confess, was a bit odd and seemed to be headed for nonsense....but I found myself enjoying every chapter, and looking forward to the solution regarding the moonpups..... Hoping for a part 2.

Alright as documentaries go.
Revisado: 06-10-24
This documentary had the basics about the beginning of astrological endeavors. it wasn't too detailed but it touched on many famous names in history and their relation to the theme. Narrator was clear in her speech and easy to follow. It could have been more but overall, I enjoyed listening to it.

well thought characters with interesting personalities
Revisado: 03-24-24
I enjoyed this read. I like historical fiction and found this story well narrated and written. the main character really needs to start shating his feelings right away to the other counterpart, and not just thinking he should have!.....Also, I often guess the killer before the reveal, but I had it half wrong on this one so I really enjoyed being wrong. ♡

extremely fun and entertaining.
Revisado: 01-12-23
I wasn't expecting much, to be honest. it had good reviews and I enjoy books with a little humor. Oh Boy! This book was a treat, other than in regards to the explanation of the pandemic, this book was absolutely awesome. The multiple Star Trek references only added to the pleasure of reading it, and the narrator was superb, not only because of the diverse voices he could create (someone that sounded like Marvin the Martin was no exception), but also because his reading was fluid and very clear (and most importantly, not monotonous). Loved it!

If only Serge really existed....
Revisado: 03-06-22
My husband and I listen to the Serge A Storms books together. These are by far the BEST books we have EVER read pertaining to Florida. As Florida people ourselves, we really appreciate all the places mentioned in the books and are trying to hit all the"Serge" spots Every time we go to a specific part of Florida for vacation or otherwise. ai really hope none of the two characters are killed off (exception for Coleman, too late for him), as these two should be like Batman, the undying heroes that form a legacy. i really hope Serge fathered a child we do t know about so that when he passes on, the offspring can continue. Also, this narrator makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE. The prior choice was great, but not for this series, my opinion only, of course .

Funny, modern, and romantic holiday story.
Revisado: 12-08-21
That had to be the FUNNIEST reindeer related a Christmas occurrence EVER. My husband heard me laughing so loudly and uncontrollably that he thought I was having some sort of Christmas breakdown..... Other than that it was a sweet, story, with what I felt were relatable characters and understandable approaches to events, which are always the things I have more difficulty grasping in Books sometimes. A definite bit of easy listening, and a lot of laughter, I loved it.

We see our present-day pandemic world and New York City through the eyes of a former Wall Street veteran, Ridley, as he, in his enforced quarantined solitude, looks back upon his life. not my kind of book....AT ALL.
Revisado: 06-17-21
oddball story, unhappy ending, a whole lot of nonsense, but it may be your kind of thing, i guess. I have always been a David D. fan from X files to Californication to Evolution, and He did mention the word "cobspiracy" in the book, which made me giggle like a 15 year old, but this book was morbid, depressing, and hopeless, in a sense.....I guess it is good that I am not a book critic......
