Thus begins the extraordinary life of Addie LaRue, and a dazzling adventure that will play out across centuries and continents, across history and art, as a young woman learns how far she will go to leave her mark on the world. But everything changes when, after nearly 300 years, Addie stumbles across a young man in a hidden bookstore and he remembers her name.

Quick to start and engaging

I normally don’t like sad stories but this one has so much fight in it that it cuts the heaviness, adds a realistic element to a fantasy story, and ends bittersweet leaving one to imagine more.

Historia
Legend. Myth. Nightfall has long been rumored to be nothing more than whispers on the breeze. If only it were so. In those halls of darkness, where children are taken from the world and given to shadow and dust, Asher is destined for that same fate. He will become the myth. He will become the legend. He will become the whisper of Death itself.

I love how the story evolves. I felt connected to the character and the twists in the story are great!

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

Started Slow
Revisado: 09-21-23
The beginning with the gaming explanation was a little overwhelming and I hated the constant interruptions but once I got through that I got into it. Jason the main character has a lot of flaws but I don’t mind because the whole story he continues to grow and develop. I love the side characters, adventure, comedy, and the connection to the gaming world. Yes the MC is atheist and preachy at times but doesn’t bother me like in some of the reviews I read. If you like magic, adventure, humor, character growth, gaming, and side characters def give it a try.
