Even if this voice were somehow miraculously improved, it wouldn't salvage the fundamentally broken core of this novel.
The narrative races breathlessly through events, skipping over potentially compelling opponents and crucial plot points with baffling speed. This breakneck pace renders the entire story utterly unbelievable, leaving no room for tension or genuine character development.
Beyond the structural issues, the writing itself is weak. The plot meanders aimlessly, and the conversations between characters are largely meaningless exchanges that add nothing to the overall narrative. It's a literary sprint that trips over its own feet, leaving the reader far behind and utterly unimpressed. Avoid this one.

very interesting.

I really loved it. I listen to it all in one go. you can tell the author has a lot of opinions on things like COVID and trans people which is great, but I would hope that we're still not arguing about pronouns and anti-vaxxers 500 years into the future.
