Good Story Great Narration
Revisado: 10-23-22
It took me a minute to get started and know what was going on but that's probably has more to do with my ADHD than anything else. once I got into the book, I couldn't wait to hear what happened next. I love it when an author blends factual history into a fictional story. at times you could really feel the struggle that these folks were going through. A good book for all ages tween on up

Excellent Narration for a Fun Story
Revisado: 09-07-22
This book ended up being one that I hated to see end. I was truly enjoying Connie's adventures and dragged out finishing the book Because I wasn't ready to let it go. The narrator did such a wonderful job with all the characters that I truly felt like I was A fly on the wall observing all of Connie's interactions.
It definitely wasn't expecting that ending but it certainly tied things up very well. If you like a fun story about a housewife that discovers her best life when she takes a break from her existing one then grab this book and give it a listen.

Perfect for Book Club Discussion
Revisado: 08-21-22
Very thought-provoking stories intertwined with one another. This story about a world where everyone receives a box with a string in it for their 22nd birthday that provides the knowledge of the remaining years of their life gives the reader many things to think about in how they approach this life & what they would do if they knew the amount of time they have left. Would it matter?
The stories of the characters in the measure were written in a way that you could easily follow along and connect with the characters. While there is a little bit of foul language, It is minimal And there are no scenes that would be deemed inappropriate for teen readers.
It's a great conversation starter among friends and book club members. I highly recommend reading or listening to this book. So far it's been my favorite one chosen in my book club.

Enjoyable Story
Revisado: 07-02-22
Female narrator often demonstrates a Shatner style of narration but the story was good enough that you could soon forget. The story is about a girl who wins the lottery, find out she has cancer and decides to go on a trip of a lifetime. It had it's predictable moments but overall it was a good read and not super heavy on the romance.
If you are someone who struggles to stay engaged in a book, this story might be one that makes you look forward to reading again or enjoying the audio to hear what happens next. The story kept my mind engaged and was easy to visualize and follow along with. I'd definitely listen again down the line and I've already recommended it to a friend.

I was so distracted by the captain Kirk style of reading that by chapter 8 I still had no idea what was going on or who anyone was. zero connection to the story or characters because of this.

Not What I Expected
Revisado: 03-16-22
The narrator did a great job but the story was a struggle to finish. If this hadn't been chosen for my book club read I would have stopped by chapter 5. The best part of the book was the end. Not just because it was almost over but because it started to get interesting but the writer didn't develop the story well and it was hard to connect to that characters.
Maybe if you were an avid hiker or really into Buddhism, you might enjoy it more than I did.

Impressive for a seven year old. I would have thought my teen wrote it. Entertaining short story for the whole family. We loved the sound effects too. Well done!

Great for Teens & Adults
Revisado: 05-25-19
Good story line. A classmate dies. He sees her ghost & tries to figure out if she's real or is he going crazy. Was it murder or is it all in his head? Lots of good suspense and mystery worth some twists and turns to keep you guessing until the very end. This was also a well narrated book. I love it when an author can write well evoking emotions and sucking you into a story without needing to include cuss words or graphic sexual content. I've listened to a few Steven James titles and like the others, this one doesn't disappoint! You can listen with the whole family (12+) and have some good conversations about things presented in the story. It's a great book for road trips. Due to the subject matter of ghosts, murder, bullies etc... this might not be suitable for younger ears/minds.
