I tried, hard books to listen to.
Revisado: 05-17-24
I tried so hard to listen to this, but I just could not, There is way to much filler, useless words that just takes up time leaving you wondering what you just listened to. I found this to be boring, the narrators voice was to chipper for me, I am sure she does great with other stories, but her voice doesn't go with this. The author lost me after the first chapter and never found me again. I disliked this so much that I will never listen or read anything this author writes.
I really think if the useless things were taken out this would be a good listen, There is just not anything to really catch your attention, no thrills, chills and by the time they come the listener is so bored they just don't want to listen anymore.
I am so sorry but some may like this kind of going on and on and on but I don't.

Historia

I do not want this series to end
Revisado: 09-28-23
In the last book of the series things get wild as Allie makes her move and it is killed or be killed. Mort has his hands full with a dead little boy, one young teen lies to get what he wants and a war starts out with Mort trying his best to find the boy's killer and a end to the drug war. This is sad so many young men killed for nothing, Allie wants revenge and will stop at nothing to get it. That is one twisted lady
. The author lays it all out with a few shocking, thrilling, chilling scenes, that holds your attention, given you a well written story filled with mystery of who did it along with one thrill after the next. Alley is back making trouble, more evil then ever. I wonder how long it will be, before daddy finds out what she is truly like. Lydia seems to be in the middle of it whether she wants to be or not. I really like the twists and turns the author gives, throwing in a few heart stopping moments to keep it all exciting.
I found this to be a great listen which I had trouble putting down, the author knows how to pull the listener in, and the wonderful narrator hooks you from the start with her many different character voices, you always knew who was talking and what they were feeling. The narrator gives true emotion, making you feel the characters pain, sorrow and joy. There was no repeating of words, no volume change, no background noise, just a very clear audio that I got lost in. The narrator has a very pleasant normal voice that I could listen to all day.

Some wild twists and turns
Revisado: 09-28-23
This was a sad story once it all comes out it broke my heart, the girl that was murdered many years ago father was something, I doubt anyone would call him a good man. He is evil inside and I am sure he wasn't always nice to his child. The lodge murders was just down cruel. The author lays it all out with a few shocking, thrilling, chilling scenes, that holds your attention, given you a well written story filled with mystery of who did it along with one thrill after the next. Hold your attention, moves fast
Revisado: 09-28-23
More bodies are for being found, there is mystery behind them, they look like good girls but they are found to be not so good girls or are they. Poor Mort is about to find out just how wrong he has been about his daughter and just what she is capable of. The author knows how to write a book that holds your attention, given you a well written story filled with mystery of who did it along with one thrill after the next. Alley must live in another world to think these call girls are happy and things are being run the way she thinks it is. I wonder how long it will be, before daddy finds out what she is truly like. That is until the day she walks back into her childhood home and begs for his help. For the last four years, Allie Grant has been the lover - and confidante, confessor, and counselor - of one of the world's most powerful and deadly men.

WOW what twists
Revisado: 09-28-23
Just as good, thrilling as the first two books, the author doesn't let you down, you have a well written story filled with mystery of who did it along with one thrill after the next. Morts daughter is in the mix, she sure knows how to pull the wool over daddies eyes but not over Lydia eyes. When Mort needs someone to keep his daughter safe where else would he take her, the safest place is with the fixer but who is going to keep Lydia safe. This is one twisted evil daughter and daddy is about to get his eye open. I really like the twists and turns the author gives, throwing in a few heart stopping moments to keep it all exciting. Trixie is something else, I did have a little trouble working out who she was but what a great character.

Historia
A little more than a year after the Fixer killings, Detective Mort Grant of the Seattle PD once again has his hands full. In the last four months, seven men have been murdered in seedy pay-by-the-hour motels: first strangled, then tied with rope and set on a bed of crushed mothballs, with a red lipstick kiss planted on their foreheads. Speculation abounds that the killer is a prostitute who's turning her tricks into dead men. The press has taken to calling her Trixie.

Revisado: 09-28-23
In the second book of this series the author doesn't let you down, you have a well written story filled with mystery of who did it along with one thrill after the next. I really didn't work out the killer until the end. Now we have Morts daughter in the mix and what a mix that is. Historia
Never a doubt. Never a mistake. Always for justice. Never for revenge. She's the person you hire when you need something fixed-permanently. With a strict set of criteria, she evaluates every request and chooses only a few. No more than one job per country, per year. She will only step in if it's clear that justice will not be served any other way. Her jobs are completed with skill and precision, and never result in inquiry or police investigation. The Fixer is invisible - and quite deadly.

Very enjoyable holds your attention
Revisado: 09-28-23
I have to say I really enjoyed this story I bought the series. I like how this is laid out, has great characters, danger, mystery, chills, a few thrills and tons of excitement. Mort is a great Detective who is hunting down the fixer that seems to know everything and is everywhere at once, everyone thinks she is a man but soon find out she is not. It was interesting to see how she finds her clints, really the hold story is interesting and pulls you in.
I found this to be a great listen which I had trouble putting down, the author knows how to pull the listener in, and the wonderful narrator hooks you from the start with her many different character voices, you always knew who was talking and what they were feeling. Historia
Two words: the bullet. That's all it takes to shatter her life. Caroline Cashion is beautiful, intelligent, a professor of French literature. But in a split second, everything she's known is proved to be a lie. A single bullet, gracefully tapered at one end, is found lodged at the base of her skull. Caroline is stunned. It makes no sense: She has never been shot. She has no entry wound, no scar. Then, over the course of one awful evening, she learns the truth.

To much filler but was a good listen
Revisado: 09-19-23
This book has a lot of filler in it, useless information, there are a few chapters you can skip all the way and not miss anything, had these been left out it would have a great listen. My heart did go out to the main character with her pain and finding out what her family went through as well as learning all she did. I had in my mind to given this a 3 star but waited until the end to decide. Once reaching the end I thought this has a good plot, believable, good characters and really a good story, if you take away the fillers it would have been a 5 star for sure. I did enjoy it and for the most part the author kept my attention. I had almost put it away but wanted to find out how it ended. I am glad I did.
The narrator did a great job pulling me in, good character voices, shows true emotions, I even chuckled a few times with sister and brother trying to get one over on each other. She has a very pleasant normal voice, you always knew who was talking and what they were feeling. There are no background noise, no repeating of words, and no volume changes.
I did enjoy this audio.

Not sure it is believable
Revisado: 09-17-23
I found at times the story just runs on, you can skip parts and it wouldn't matter you didn't miss much. After reading the other reviews I have to ask myself, could this happen. Gary doesn't know that he is chasing anyone dealing in drugs for a long time, we know this but he doesn't. Even I know no one is going to pay a person that kind of money to kill someone unless you do that stuff for a living. I just don't see Gary believing that, more so not once he finds out who he is going to have to kill. His brother following him and how that went down, yes I can believe that. I can also buy him trying to get even with the guy that hired him for what all he did to him.
I thought the story had some good twist and turns, it was interesting and for the most part kept my attention. It has a good plot and characters. I just feel and upstanding person no matter the reason would not buy that they would get paid that much for killing someone. I did enjoy the audio and did skip a few minutes through some parts. The ending leaves you hanging, oh you have good ending the bad people are taken care of but as for Gary and his wife.....well your guess is as good as mine.
I thought the narrator did a good job with the character voices, you always know who is talking and what they are feeling. He really bought the story to life and at times made me believe things if I had read it I would not have bought into. There are no background noise, no repeating of words, no volume change. I thought he did a great job narrating the story.
With all that said I am still having a hard time believing that anyone who is a business man, with good standing and has done nothing wrong would believe they would get that much money for killing a cop. I do have to say for the most part it was exciting, thrilling and chilling.

All over the place
Revisado: 09-17-23
This story is all over the place, I doubt anyone could work out who did it or really what is going on. There are some unanswered questions and a lot of twists and turns. I almost stopped listening but I wanted to find out just how crazy and off the wall this was going to be. People aren't family but they are, people don't know each other but they do, no body is as they seem to be. This is just one big mess that leaves you with your mouth hung open asking what the heck, you are kidding me right....
I didn't really care for the narrator her normal voice is ok, but her character voices are very close together which had me guess who was talking. She pauses when she should not but more times she runs through with no pause. There are no background noises, no repeating of words, and no volume changes.
There are good parts in the story, with some nice twists and turns, a lot of back and forward that you get confused. Kara can't seem to decide who or what she wants, she is really into drama as well as Misty. Are these woman or are they 12 year olds. Oh I could go on but I really don't want to given to many details for someone who may want to listen to this and who may enjoy it. I am really tried of grow women who really just want drama and act like teenagers, I want suspense, thrills, action, romance is ok but this is really none of those, who have one taking away a boyfriend of her best friend and if that isn't enough it gets worse. Lord the mothers are really something and with that I have said enough.
This sure wasn't for me at all.
