Historia
In Raven's Witness, Lentfer tells Nelson's story - from his midwestern childhood to his first experiences with Native culture in Alaska through his own lifelong passion for the land where he so belonged. Nelson was the author of the best-selling The Island Within and Heart and Blood. The recipient of multiple honorary degrees and numerous literary awards, he regularly packed auditoriums when he spoke. His depth of experience allowed him to become an intermediary between worlds. This is his story.

A beautiful witness of life!
Revisado: 07-24-23
I will look, listen, smell, feel, and taste the world around me more carefully now as I pass this life at my home in the mountains of Wyoming.
A most memorable account of a human being!
Bravo.

Historia
From the cave walls at Lascaux to the last painting by Van Gogh, from the works of Shakespeare to those of Mark Twain, there is clear evidence that crows and ravens influence human culture. Yet this influence is not unidirectional, say the authors of this fascinating book: people profoundly influence crow culture, ecology, and evolution as well. John Marzluff and Tony Angell examine the often surprising ways that crows and humans interact. The authors contend that those interactions reflect a process of "cultural coevolution."

More than I knew, and I knew a lot.
Revisado: 05-19-23
Inspired me to redouble my passion for the Corvid!
I live in rural Wyoming and have known. Numerous mating pair of ravens.
In the early summer many times the parents have brought the fledglings to to introduce them.
I have witnessed ravens bewildering reactions to the death of my father in law.
As they flew over following the coroner’s ambulance, raging as his remains were carried away.
Few animal interactions compare with those of the Raven.
