The ending is fantastic!!!!

I think the story is too much from the point of view of the author.... and the guy's voice gets on my nerves after a while...... but the ending of this story made it all worth it!!!! I'm not going to spoil it though:)

The only cool part about this book is the master class he gets. I'm here for the stat building and town building however this author takes you on an emotional roller coaster with some pretty heavy listening throughout the first five books. I have endured it because so far the story has had the main character slowly progressing and getting stronger. however at the beginning of 6th book he completely skips over (4 years 😲) of the main characters intensive masterclass training just mentioning it in passing. Then he comes home or back to his settlements and you find out that he is basically a stranger because he's been gone for 4 years!!! His girlfriend is with someone else and he's going to need to rebuild pretty much all of his other relationships as well or discard THEM! So he gets his master class and then it's a complete reset on the rest of his life, so you end up feeling like he got nowhere basically just another' but huge emotional twist and I'm f****** done with it. The only thing this author knows how to do is emotional twists I'm convinced, and the fact that he's willing to just skip over four years of training which is one of the biggest reasons most people even read this kind of fiction, is in my opinion unforgivable. I doubt I'll ever listen to another book written by this author.

Great story development, leaves me on the edge of my seat for the next book. Also some great character development at the end. Also I like Travis Ballree's voice, perfect for this kind of story. Overall fantastc!!! I had my doubts about character development, but it was wrapped up very nicely at the end!

I really love this entire series. very good story and character development and unlike many other books there's not any stagnation in the story. throughout it's continually building many characters and the story progresses along nicely and it surprises you fairly often. if you like a slightly Japanese bent honor system and cultivation type magic then I would recommend this series to anyone!

Can't wait for book 2!!!!!!!!!!! The story is great, and the two battle veterans teleported to a fantasy world makes a great combination. The way that the veterans act and talk remind me of the Monster Hunter series!

Does not follow the story of the first book

The first one was okay but when you have a series it's supposed to be the same story I can't stand it when they completely change the story never coming back to the original story I wish I could delete this book off my device permanently.
