Historia
While the residents of the Québec village of Three Pines take advantage of the deep snow to ski and toboggan, to drink hot chocolate in the bistro and share meals together, the Chief Inspector finds his holiday with his family interrupted by a simple request. Why so drawn out
Revisado: 03-01-24
Great characters but author wrote as if being paid by the word. Way over used phases like “we’re missing something “ and asking each character over and over did you kill. Overall killer was early revealed but then over and over to no effect. Story line where time of killing so tight and so few real suspects not very clever. Also never explained how killer got the weapon

Historia
During our chaotic times, discover five forgotten values that can spark internal growth and help us reconcile our Christian faith with the complexities of race, sexuality, and social justice. Most believers live in the state of "being a Christian" without ever being deeply formed by Christ. Our pace is too frenetic to be in union with God, and we don't know how to quiet our hearts and minds to be present. Our emotions are unhealthy and compartmentalized.

Missed the mark
Revisado: 08-25-23
Chapters on race and sexuality should be torn out. This author has no clue.
The rest of the chapters have some things but he tends to be a Catholic apologist. Why not just identify as one

Historia
Amitav Ghosh’s extraordinary first novel makes a claim on literary turf held by Gabriel García Márquez and Salman Rushdie. In a vivid and magical story, The Circle of Reason traces the misadventures of Alu, a young master weaver in a small Bengali village who is falsely accused of terrorism. Alu flees his home, traveling through Bombay to the Persian Gulf to North Africa with a bird-watching policeman in pursuit.

What was this about
Revisado: 06-29-17
Authors trilogy was quite good. However this book seems to have no purpose or direction. The descriptions seem very interesting but they go no where. I like the unusual names but because there are so many central characters there is no way to know who is who
