Historia
The fourth book in the NYT best-selling Expanse series, Cibola Burn sees the crew of the Rocinante on a new frontier, as the rush to colonize the new planets threatens to outrun law and order and give way to war and chaos. Enter a new frontier. "An empty apartment, a missing family, that's creepy. But this is like finding a military base with no one on it. Fighters and tanks idling on the runway with no drivers. This is bad juju. Something wrong happened here. What you should do is tell everyone to leave".

Another great storyline for The Expanse
Revisado: 05-05-18
From beginning to end, it keeps you wanting to know what happens next. Some of it is rather predictable and the "villain" of the story has the personality of so many villains in so many other books/movies/TV. But the epilogue was a complete surprise ending all unto itself. Looking forward to starting the next book in the series. I also really enjoy the narrator, Jefferson May. Glad he's been the only narrator of the main books, he brings a great level of consistency to all of the characters. Only wish he read the Novellas as well.

A bit slow, different narrator
Revisado: 07-12-17
This story was a bit difficult to get into, by the time it picked up and got really interesting *poof* it was over. Still, good to hear Amos' back story. The narrator wasn't bad, just very different from the reader of the main books.

Great insight
Revisado: 05-10-17
I really liked the way Leah wrote this, telling of her family and herself, so being opened about her own life, while also going into great detail about the inner workings of Scientology, but not just outright trashing it. She told of both the good (seems like there is a bit) and the bad, doing a great job of weaving her life and the "church" part of her life together well. I'm not religious nor do I like most religions - especially these that just sound so "cultish" but it was a fascinating glimpse inside. Leah could have really laid waste to Scientology - and to a degree, she did - but it wasn't an all out smear campaign. I'd love to hear more of these types of stories from others who've "escaped" like Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes. I hope Leah and family can find peace in their lives now.

Historia
When Carrie Fisher recently discovered the journals she kept during the filming of the first Star Wars movie, she was astonished to see what they had preserved—plaintive love poems, unbridled musings with youthful naiveté, and a vulnerability that she barely recognized. Today, her fame as an author, actress, and pop-culture icon is indisputable, but in 1977, Carrie Fisher was just a teenager with an all-consuming crush on her costar, Harrison Ford.

Historia
For decades, Joan Rivers was known as America's top female comedian... her brash unsparing style and truly tenacious spirit inspired both her fellow comedians and her millions of fans. In her own voice, she recounts her personal story from the inside out - her anguish, her anger, her insight, her inspiration - from her rags to riches struggle on the hard way to the top, to the breakthrough act which not only changed her world but also changed the world of stand-up comedy.

Great autobiography, audio muffled
Revisado: 09-01-16
Loved hearing Joan Rivers story, right up to the end when she finally made it to Carson. As always, it's great listening to the narration in the authors voice, I've listened to quite a few books by Joan. Only complaint; the audio was really muffled and almost inaudible in places, had to turn the sound up LOUD to have a clue to what was being said. Aside from that, excellent!

A fascinating glimpse into a Hollywood icon/legend
Revisado: 08-14-16
I adore Debbie Reynolds, even though I've only seen a few of her classic movies (now watching many more) and know her best from Will & Grace. Listening to her life of MANY ups and downs was inspiring, knowing that she's always maintained such a positive, happy stature. At 10+ hours, this was certainly worth the money, not for just time - but the pure enjoyment of listening to her hypnotic voice. I truly enjoyed every minute.

Not your usual Joan Rivers book - but still funny!
Revisado: 08-29-15
Where does Men Are Stupid...And They Like Big Boobs rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This book is different than Joan's other books, in that it's a great explanation of all sorts of Plastic Surgery and other Cosmetic Options available. Super informative but still told with that Joan Rivers style and humor.
Any additional comments?
Being an informational book, it's not as funny as Joan's usual material BUT she's able to deliver what could be boring, dry material in a captivating - and funny way. Typical Joan River's style!

Joan Rivers was known all over the world - from the Palace Theater to Buckingham Palace, from the bright lights of Las Vegas to the footlights of Broadway, from the days of talkies to hosting talk shows. But there was only one person who knew Joan intimately, one person who the authorities would call when she got a little out of hand. Her daughter and best friend, Melissa.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Book of Joan to be better than the print version?
I bought the print version and audio but haven't read the print version yet
Any additional comments?
Loved hearing Melissa's stories, about herself, Cooper, and Joan. But Melissa doesn't read quite as well as Joan - as in, it's kind of obvious she's reading whereas Joan is more fluid and listening to Joan is like having her on your sofa telling you a story. Not to say I didn't enjoy it, I very much did - and I hope Melissa has more books out soon!

Historia
Joan Rivers is a groundbreaking, award-winning, internationally renowned entertainment goddess. She’s also opinionated - especially when it comes to people she hates. Like people who think giving birth is a unique achievement. Or well-adjusted - a.k.a. boring - ex-child stars who don’t even have a decent addiction. With all of her diverse experiences, it stands to reason that Joan has seen, done, said, and heard a lot of hateful things. Thank god, she took notes.

Revisado: 07-05-15
If you could sum up I Hate Everyone...Starting With Me in three words, what would they be?
Way beyond hysterical
What was one of the most memorable moments of I Hate Everyone...Starting With Me?
The entire thing was fantastic - and I've listened to it twice. The most memorable thing would be that Joan narrates her own and her intonations, sighs, emotion in her voice as she's reading make it all that more special.
Which scene was your favorite?
Page one to page end.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Not possible to make a film - it's a diary, for one, and NOBODY would be good enough to play Joan.
Any additional comments?
I've purchased many of her physical books but don't really have much reading time. These are awesome, as I can listen to them in the car, laughing my way all the way to my destination, and be in a great mood when I get there because Joan keeps me cracking up always - whether it's the 1st time through or 10th. Never gets old. And I miss her horribly. These books are the next best thing to her being alive.
