My top wish for this listen was that it should have had an accompanying pdf, or better yet, a guidebook like other Great Courses. I’m bummed that I can’t look at the bibliography.

I treated this as more an introductory/application (enrichment) course in friendship. To that end, it was great. Practical. Didn’t waste time.

Yes, the speakers youth and naïveté were a bit cringe at times, and as a conservative, I do not appreciate the work dogma; But most will probably agree with it.

If you can chew the meat and spit out the bones, this is great. I loved that it’s newer and includes recent, updated research that I didn’t hear in books written even a couple of years prior.
Great listen.

If you could sum up Total Truth in three words, what would they be?

Satisfying, Genuine, Scholarly

Who was your favorite character and why?

Though it wasn't a narrative, it definitely had characters (hundreds of philosophers, scientists, ministers and more were cited!) My favorite was Francis Schaeffer, a powerful witness who showed true hospitality and love towards those he ministered to.

What about Kate Reading’s performance did you like?

I read the book at 3x the normal speed so her pronunciation and accurate rendition of the work's construction were invaluable.

If you could sum up The Eye of the World in three words, what would they be?

Articulate, bold narrative.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Rand Al'Thor. He was the main character, and his character seemed to be the most developed out of the different personalities, most relatable.

What does Kate Reading and Michael Kramer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The main advantage of these gifted narrators was the distinction they aptly gave to the characters. The names, places and personalities would have blended together and been confusing to some extent.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

At first, I did, but as the story progressed, I grew to enjoy the length of this engaging narrative.
