This is one of the best books I’ve experienced in years. It is a beautiful, funny and bittersweet exploration of youthful imagination. I wish I could continue to live in Harold’s mind with all the birds. I will reread this book often to help me remember what my mind was like long ago.

I saw this guy at the Boxley Wheatsheaf and he made me laugh so much I nearly soiled my unders. He's gotta try standup!

What disappointed you about Nick Drake's Pink Moon (33 1/3 Series)?

If you like tales of marketing and advertising, but cannot stand the clever writing and in depth story lines of Mad Men, then this book is for you! I sat riveted as the author regaled me with the inner workings of how a commercial is made! Just when you think they couldn't find anything else to tell you about Volkswagen commercials specifically...then BAM! They hit you with a one, two punch of some low-level suit relaying fascinating incite on how the right commercial, done in the right way, can define a generation. The in depth detail of how people can sell you ANYTHING with the right song just leaps off the page and assaults you with tedium. I'll never look at marketing the same way again, that's for sure.

I think they talked a little bit about the Pink Moon album by Nick Drake as well. I can't remember for sure.

What could Amanda Petrusich have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The author could maybe spend only 20 minutes talking about her train journey into New York.

Oh, and maybe talk a little bit about the Pink Moon album by Nick Drake.

How could the performance have been better?

The performance could have been made better by reading something that actually pertains to the topic of the book. (for instance, the Pink Moon album by Nick Drake)

What character would you cut from Nick Drake's Pink Moon (33 1/3 Series)?

The author! Oh, and VW too.

Any additional comments?

If I thought for a second that Audible would give me my money back for this ridiculously horrible audiobook, then I would pursue it. Oh well, you live and learn.

It actually gets laughable toward the end because you keep expecting them to stop talking about commercials, but they don't! It goes on and on and on! I kept putting my earphones down because I couldn't handle the boredom anymore. Then I'd pick them up again to see if the advertising lessons had ended, but nooooooooo. They were still talking about something that has truly nothing to do with the album the author is supposed to be writing about.
