Maverick was a great listen. Some speakers like Jordan Peterson explain things that you intuitively know but can’t explain. Thomas Sowell is that kind of man and I am inspired by this book to grow and learn more about this man

It was good and I like Paul Thigpen books. I didn’t like Kevin OBrien narration. He is very talented but frequently listening to a man attempting women’s voices or demon voices is incredibly distracting.

This book is amazing.... It was born though a hell that legitimizes that of the Bible. This historic book fills in gaps in our everyday world-view that our outstanding. It gives a more intimate view of socialism and communism. Perhaps this why few have heard of it.
I must be short here. I am humbled by this book but not trained enough to comment on such amazing book and author. I will however continue to study what this book contains so that in the future I can give a minimal comment. Thanks to all who made this book possible

Historia
Two decades after the publication of The Black Book of Communism, nearly everyone is or at least should be aware of the immense evil produced by that devilish ideology first hatched when Karl Marx penned his Communist Manifesto two centuries ago. Far too many people, however, separate Marx the man from the evils wrought by the oppressive ideology and theory that bears his name.

Important book
Revisado: 01-16-21
While I know little of military history, this fascinating and detailed book helped me to better understand what happened in the Vietnam war and its Veterans. I always wandered why there were so many mixed messages surrounding it and so much shame, now I have a much better understanding.
Thanks to all the men and women who sacrificed so much and truly served, may we emulate them, not those who wished to sacrifice those heroes to get ahead.

Historia
Brennan Manning has been dazzingly faithful in preaching and writing variations on the ragamuffin theme, Yes, Abba is very fond of you! But today the crowds are gone and the lights are dim, the patches on his knees have faded. If he ever was a ragamuffin, truly it is now. In this his final book, Brennan roves back his past, honoring the lives of the people closest to him, family and friends who've known the saint and the sinner, the boy and the man. Far from some chronological timeline, these memories are witness to the truth of life by one who has lived it.

Vulgar Grace
Revisado: 10-21-19
I say this simply for context but I have grown up in the church, first Protestant and now I’m a Catholic. I have never heard anyone else speak about the Love of God the way Brennan has. Never. It took a couple of times and several years for Ragamuffin Gospel to digest a little. At first I didn’t like it, couldn’t finish it. Then later I would read it and it was shocking. God loves me like that!? Really?! I could see it intellectually and biblically but my heart just couldn’t take it. I had to read it a little at a time, it was too overwhelming. Hearing a preacher say something similar would have been easy to blow off but not Brennan. Several of my friends have had similar experiences as well. In a lot of ways this book is similar. It’s darkness and light are natural and supernatural and not easy to experience. The first time I read the book I was troubled that a hero had lost his way so often. The next time, I saw a lot more of myself in Brennan’s story and saw more of God’s crazy love in our lives. And lately, listening to this book here, I’m more confident that I can have the experiences with God that Brennan had. That God’s vulgar grace is here and now even for sinners like Brennan and I.

Historia
Marcellino D'Ambrosio dusts off what might have been just dry theology to bring you the exciting stories of great heroes such as Ambrose, Augustine, Basil, Athanasius, John Chrysostom, and Jerome. These brilliant, embattled, and sometimes eccentric men defined the biblical canon, hammered out the Creed, and gave us our understanding of sacraments and salvation. It is they who preserved the rich legacy of the early Church for us.

Great introduction to The Fathers and more!
Revisado: 02-09-19
Listening to this book was like drinking cool water on a hot day! But better was the author’s step by step through time using the church fathers own words. As he went through history the stories just flowed.
There is so much detail to get you thirsty for more, dates, times, contexts, clothing, languages, cultures, friends, conflicts but it never felt like a text book or like a book written to “push back”, like some I have read. I’d recommend this book to everyone who has

Pretty amazing
Revisado: 10-17-18
This is the authors relentless, sometimes intense journey and brief explanation of God to people she cares deeply for or loves. It's great and good. Sometimes it feels shallow but only because the subject would need its own book or it would distract. But she often opens up doors to many treasure rooms that are very deep and invites you to look and evaluate yourself. Then quickly she shows another room and another all the while leaving doors open so can come back and enjoy the wealth but right now she is showing us some of her mansion. I'm really grateful for this book, though sometimes it made me angry or even cry. The truth can do this to me when someone shows the truth through their own experience. I would be honored and humbled to meet the author- she has cooperated with God and therefore has an amazing story and being. Thank you sister for sharing so many gifts with us. Praise God!!
