Historia
A young, naïve but ultimately courageous hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall towers above his rivals—in stature if not experience. Tagging along is his diminutive squire, a boy called Egg—whose true name is hidden from all he and Dunk encounter. Though more improbable heroes may not be found in all of Westeros, great destinies lay ahead for these two . . . as do powerful foes, royal intrigue, and outrageous exploits. Featuring more than 160 all-new illustrations by Gary Gianni, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a must-have collection that proves chivalry isn’t dead—yet.

a childrens story in westeros
Revisado: 09-23-22
if you go in ahead of time knowing how simply written and childish the book is going to be, you will enjoy it more than I did. Like, I knew it wasn't going to be game of thrones level dark/adult, and it's not a bed time story for 5 year olds, but to me it read like something written for 11-12 year olds instead of 16 year olds. again, that's not a knock on the story itself, but it's not what I was expecting, and because of that, while I don't regret reading it, I didn't really enjoy it. THE NARRATOR WAS GREAT THOUGH!!!!!

great 1 volume story
Revisado: 09-23-22
I say great 1 volume story as very much of a complement. it's very hard to properly develop enough backstory and world building for a world encompassing story to take place, but this author manages to do it very impressively, with only APPROPRIATE lack of detail for certain characters that are involved but on a superficial level. I feel like this world could be returned to, but the book is an amazing standalone read/adventure. it has a connection with its main characters that feels like old fantasy, but also a proportional amount of world spanning awareness.

Historia
If the past is prologue, then George R. R. Martin's masterwork - the most inventive and entertaining fantasy saga of our time - warrants one hell of an introduction. At long last, it has arrived with The World of Ice & Fire. This volume is a comprehensive history of the Seven Kingdoms, providing vividly constructed accounts of the epic battles, bitter rivalries, and daring rebellions that lead to the events of A Song of Ice and Fire and HBO's Game of Thrones.

good book, suffers from connecting to the movies
Revisado: 07-10-22
The book does well with connecting us to the roots of star wars while also giving us a team up that we haven't had yet in canon novels. We get Luke and Lando. We get force powers beyond the basic push and pull, we get sith artifacts. We also get limited by the movies. Key characters in the book HAVE TO have their interactions and missions go a certain way in order for things to not happen for the first time until they happen in the movies. I would say though that the areas where the book is given more freedom to be world building and Lore enhancing still make it worth the read, and while not changing the movies, it seems to be setting up a better background of circumstances that to me make the movies better already.

Historia
The time is World War II. The place is a brutal prison camp deep in Japanese-occupied territory. Here, within the seething mass of humanity, one man, an American corporal, seeks dominance over both captives and captors alike. His weapons are human courage, unblinking understanding of human weaknesses, and total willingness to exploit every opportunity to enlarge his power and corrupt or destroy anyone who stands in his path.

Historia
It's 2526. It has been almost a year since humanity engaged in its destructive first contact with a theocratic military alliance of alien races known as the Covenant. Now, the hostilities have led to open war, and the United Nations Space Command understands virtually nothing about its new enemy. The UNSC’s only hope lies with the Spartans: enhanced super-soldiers trained from childhood via a clandestine black-ops project to be living weapons. But not everyone wants the Spartans to succeed.

it's nice to see the halo universe
Revisado: 07-29-21
Troy Denning is doing a great job. he was my second favorite star wars writer and I think that this universe fits him even better, let's just hope that the Mouse doesn't buy this universe and take it away from him/us as well. about the book itself, I like the connection that is deepened with characters that are in the games, though it makes it awkward if you were a halo player that killed sgt johnson in friendly fire on the 2nd level of the first game lol
