From the beginning to the end I feel every worry could be mine. Ian not the mom who sews button it can join the PTA, and i will always be exhausted as my “different needs” son will not Sleep! I feel so much kinship with Merideth even though we’ve never met . She makes moms feel like we could just sit and have coffee together and speak the truth about the real struggles of being a mom. It’s not all pretty and joyful , but we never stop loving and we keep going . She breaks down the facade of the expectations of perfect mothering . There is no such thing . It’s okay to cry! During this pandemic this book is a lifesaver and it was written before . I can’t wait for her next book! She has brought us together as moms , and I finally feel like I’m Not alone ! Give this book to every teacher , counselor , mom friend , it should be mandatory reading!
