Historia
Scotland, 1026 - Gruoch, descendant of the line of MacAlpin, should have been born into a life of ease. But fate is fickle. Her father's untimely death, rumored to have been plotted by King Malcolm, leaves her future uncertain and stained by the prophecy that she will avenge her family line. Escaping to one of the last strongholds of the old Celtic gods, Gruoch becomes an adept in arcane craft. Her encounters with the otherworld, however, suggest that magic runs stronger in Scotland than she ever imagined.

Ugh, just ugh
Revisado: 02-06-23
So bad. This isn’t history. It’s not a story either. It’s a jumble of cliches and cardboard cutout characters. The men are rapists and child molesters, the women are raven haired warrior princesses who collect herbs in the forest. Vomit.

Nice time travel / love story. This started a bit slow but it picked up speed and was a fun light read about time travel to the wild west.

1st two chapters fine, but then turns into encyclopedia about alien world
Revisado: 06-27-22
Disappointing because the premise was good, and the set up in the first two chapters was intriguing. Chapter 3 devolves into an info dump about an alien world I couldn’t feel connected to because there was really no story after that. Just the character doing random stuff in the alien world. Good example of telling, not showing. Author had a good premise but not a good story.
