good narrator but his women's voices are awful
Revisado: 08-10-21
enjoyable if predictable cozy mystery, but romance elements were cloying and while the voice actor was clearly able to differentiate all the characters, he does the women's voices in a falsetto that is just grating to listen to.

Romance disguised as cozy mystery
Revisado: 08-02-21
I wanted to like this book because the premise seems promising, however it reads like a harlequin romance crossed with a high school angst ridden YA book. Characters are bizarre charicatures that seem like they were developed by someone who learned about human interaction by watching reality television shows. Characters repeatedly get into physical altercations and throw coffee cups--who does this in real life? The murderer gives an unrealistic full confession for no reason. I am surprised this book has enough readership to have led to a series, it was a stinker.

Not even the sweet, enthusiastic tourist in the corner who blushes every time he looks her way...Two weeks in Alaska isn't just the top item on Zoey Caldwell's bucket list. It's the whole bucket. One look at the mountain town of Moose Springs and she's smitten.

Title is the best thing about this book
Revisado: 01-04-21
This one is a stinker. The Alaskan love interest comes across like a 1960's cowboy. They go to great lengths to present the heroine as a bookish introvert and suggest that the protagonist has the depth to prefer her over the sexy socialite--so why does he constantly greet the heroine with "hey gorgeous"??? It made me hate him a little more each time. I could hardly finish the book.
