Historia
When she was suddenly given the opportunity of a new life in rural Jutland, journalist and archetypal Londoner Helen Russell discovered a startling statistic: the happiest place on earth isn't Disneyland but Denmark, a land often thought of by foreigners as consisting entirely of long, dark winters, cured herring, Lego and pastries. What is the secret to their success? Are happy Danes born or made?

Funny, uplifting chatter by an Englishwoman abroad
Revisado: 01-04-18
This book was a fun surprise. Russell shares the ups and downs of living in another country. Her anecdotes are witty and genuine. While she is sometimes critical of her temporarily adopted country, she is equally critical of her home country's quirks. The comparison helps her avoid the pitfalls of the ugly tourist abroad irate on a search for a particular brand of smokes

Well written. Clever
Revisado: 12-16-17
In the same genre as The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, with the same sense of place as one of Louise Penny's Chief Inspector Gamache mystery novels. Worth an Audible credit. Audible doesn't have #3 in the series, but I will definitely list to #4.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Historia
Before John Glenn orbited the Earth or Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, a group of dedicated female mathematicians known as "human computers" used pencils, slide rules, and adding machines to calculate the numbers that would launch rockets and astronauts into space. Among these problem solvers were a group of exceptionally talented African American women, some of the brightest minds of their generation.

Not the right narrator. Slightly below average production value to recording. Great story.

The narrator reads the words as if she doesn't know what they mean. The story itself is excellent.

Cheerful

Cheerful, engaging book. I sometimes avoid romances because I dislike the smutty bits. The author aimed for funny rather than sleazy, and showed excellent restraint. Good narrator too.

Cultural misappropriation gone wrong
Revisado: 01-01-17
This narration begins offensively with mispronunciation of the word Kenai. This is foreshadowing of the author's gross misappropriation of the Old Believer communities of the Kenai Peninsula region for use in her tale. Offensive.

Good narrator
Revisado: 11-28-16
I was unable to listen to the earliest books in this series because of the poor quality narration. (Poor production quality and a narrator who over-reached her accent.) This narrator was excellent, and the production quality was fine too. Novella itself was a continuation of the series. For maximum entertainment, start with the first one, not here.

Excellent twist on Jane Eyre
Revisado: 11-30-12
What did you love best about Ironskin?
The author retooled the classic Jane Eyre with a light and fantastic touch. While the conclusion was forgone, I enjoyed the journey of the tale. This is an appropriate choice for teens 13 and up, but not too juvenile for adult readers.
Did Rosalyn Landor do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Rosalyn Landor is an able narrator.
