The narration? Not in a good way?
Revisado: 12-11-24
It’s difficult to get past the voice lift that ends two of every three sentences. It’s a predicable rhythm, up-up-down…up-up-down. I do love the story, but I have to be in the mood to listen past the narration, as it does distract from the story. The voices seem pretty distinguishable, and are performed well. It’s just the lift at the end makes everything sound like a question.

Hard to listen to
Revisado: 05-03-24
I enjoyed the story but there were a few voices that really got on my nerves. I found myself thinking that if I were reading it in a book, that it would’ve been completely different and possibly enjoyable, but the voice of Molly was screechy and non-stop whiny. Almost as if she was yelling. Had to turn the volume down every time she spoke. Maybe it was to emphasize the intensity of their situation, who knows? Overacting at its finest. I held out for several chapters, daring myself to muscle through until I was finally so triggered I couldn’t finish the book.

Love this!
Revisado: 10-13-23
The whole plot line was a welcome surprise. A hint of magic thread throughout the entire story. Enjoyed it so much, was sad to see it end.

Love the story, but…
Revisado: 10-12-23
I’m a big fan of all of Hope Holloway’s series. But…I have a hard time with all the whispering. Its so cringe in fact, I find myself hitting the volume down, or skipping through the whisper fest. Please, I beg of you, stop the dramatic whispering.

Overuse of phrases is very distracting
Revisado: 05-11-20
I find myself forwarding through the story when I hear anything to do with the swear jar, “Swearing doesn’t count when...”. It was cute for about half a minute, but seriously, it’s old now. The premise of the stories is interesting, with the psychic angle, but it seems that the psychic “crew” has taken a back seat as we move through the series. Disappointing.
