Historia
On New Year's Eve in 2012, Matthew Schrier was headed home from Syria, where he'd been photographing the country's civil war. Just 45 minutes from the safety of the Turkish border, he was taken prisoner by the al-Nusra Front. Over the next seven months he would endure torture and near starvation in six brutal terrorist prisons. And, eventually, he would escape. In this gripping, raw, and surprisingly funny memoir, Schrier details the horrifying and frequently surreal experience of being a slight, wisecracking Jewish guy held captive by the world's most violent Islamic extremists.

It’s a breakdown of one’s humanity
Revisado: 10-07-22
This was an amazing story. I felt that I could relate to the author in my experience in the Marine Corps. In the treatment received from all the terror groups was absolutely terrible but it really breaks down one’s humanity once they treat you like an animal. One’s morals and principles come out then you start to see who people really are. Lines are drawn in the sand and it’s interesting to see the mindset into his captors. You’re learning about a whole new world. It’s culture is otherworldly .

Historia
In the early 18th century, the Pirate Republic was home to some of the great pirate captains, including Blackbeard, "Black Sam" Bellamy, and Charles Vane. Along with their fellow pirates - former sailors, indentured servants, and runaway slaves - this "Flying Gang" established a crude but distinctive democracy in the Bahamas, carving out their own zone of freedom in which servants were free, Blacks could be equal citizens, and leaders were chosen or deposed by a vote.

Interesting story but boring
Revisado: 03-23-21
Books always have more information than a movie or a short story. This always a great aspect about books but in this one there’s an abundance of extra information that gets covered multiple times that draws the story out and makes it boring. On top of that, the narrator has one tone throughout the entire book. I couldn’t finish it. I kept falling asleep. Even with the problem mentioned previously I can manage but the narrator monotonous tone I can’t deal with.

Historia
Father of cyberpunk William Gibson’s original script for Alien III, written in 1987 as a sequel to Aliens, never made it to our screens, although it went on to achieve cult status among fans as the third instalment that might have been after being leaked online. This terrifying, cinematic multicast dramatisation - directed by the multi-award-winning Dirk Maggs - is the chance to experience William Gibson’s untold story and its terrifying, claustrophobic and dark encounters between humans and aliens, as a completely immersive audio experience.

Should’ve been the sequel
Revisado: 02-22-21
I loved Michael Biehn back into character as Cpl. Hicks. The story was better than the actual third movie.
