The characters were not compelling. I didn’t feel attached to any of them. The boring raddle about their time in the theater did not impress me. Too much minutia about nothing.

This was a very well told story. The characters are realistic, and their experiences describe the cult life in shocking detail. It had the right amount of suspense to keep the reader engaged. Worth the credit.

I had an aunt who was very devoted to Padre Pio. I didn’t know much about him and decided to read this book. I’m so glad that I did and now I understand her devotion. What an amazing life truly, he was a gift to many.

A book every American should read especially those studying the history of the Vietnam war. The POW perspective was interesting to me having been a teenager myself during that time and highly influenced by anti war protests.
