The narrators did a very nice job. The story wrapped up well after each book. The romance was a little far fetched, but it's a harem story, it's meant to be. Overall, I enjoyed the series.

The premise of the story and the characters themselves were very good. The narration was done extremely well. The flow of the chapters however was rather disruptive. Flashbacks are one thing, and I think they should be used sparingly, but to essentially tell so many stories simultaneously was annoying.

This one was full of fluff and gratuitous mentions of God. As an agnostic, it was just this side of annoying but the story line made it palatable. An evangelical Nora Roberts.

This story was heartfelt and interesting, though the narration took some time to get used to. It started a little slow but the concept was novel enough that it kept me intrigued. Oddly, the best way I can think to describe it would be a strange combination of The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and The Last Unicorn.

New players in a semi-classic trope

I don't often enjoy LBGTQ romances. A lot of times the romance is under or over written. This was exaggerated, yes, but it fit with the supernatural trope of "we were destined to be together" so some of the "I love you instantly" was more acceptable. That's not to say that the human didn't get to have his freak outs and question the craziness. And those moments were real enough given the minimal back story you have for him. And more importantly the characters themselves felt realistic. Most gay guys don't walk to work or church or the club thinking "I'm doing XYZ because I like guys." No, they go to work or church or the club thinking stuff about what they are going to be doing at wherever it is they're going. This story was romantic and erotic between 2 people who happened to be gay, the author didn't ram it down our throats as if they needed to make a statement. Our two heros save the world and have great sex. Fluffy paranormal romance at it's best, with just enough bite not to be sickening...this time i didn't actually mean the pun...

The book was entertaining, and I appreciated some of the research into the details on esoteric spirituality, but really...for a woman who claims to be a witch, and a decent one at that, how many hits with the clue-by-4 do you need? There is literally a moment when it's "don't go down the creepy stairs to the basement!" Gus is a great character though. I liked him better than the protagonist. The sarcasm and fine details crafted (pun intended) for the spell work made it readable. Am I getting the sequel, no, but I'm not returning it either.

I am a romantic at heart and love to see the girl get the guy or vice versa, but at some points during the story all I could think was "no! That is not romantic, that is the precursor of a domestic violence situation!" Of course, it worked out fine in the end and everyone was happy, to each their own. And all situations or soft plot lines can be saved by the wonderful narration of Jim Frangione. It was entertaining and worth my time, but nothing to write home about.

This was phenomenal! The plot was continuously engaging and funny, and the narrator never missed a beat! He portrayed a 2100-year-old druid just as he was meant to be voiced - with dry humor born out of watching humanity's best and worst moments. The book was also filled with a variety of other characters from diverse backgrounds, and species, and Daniels' accents were great. The characterization was also wonderful. Atticus O'Sullivan has just the right amount of all-powerfulness that amazes you, but with enough wisdom and humility that he doesn't come off as an a-hole. So when he wins a fight through some awesome bit of magick or luck you aren't disgusted, but rather are pumping your fist and saying "Boo-yah, take that byotch!" This book is a must and I can't wait to listen to book two!

This is one of those stories where you know the idea could have gone somewhere if the author had put more effort into it. It was entertaining enough, but you have to set your expectations low. The performance was also less than adequate. The narrator tried way too hard. Every word was exaggerated in such a way that you thought the whole tale was as much of a surprise to the narrator as it was to the listener. Also when a woman is really trying to pull off a deep, male baritone and fails, it puts a damper on the entire character because you just get annoyed by what is supposed to be sexy. But as a mindless distraction, I guess it was acceptable.

Wonderful! The story line is compelling; the narration is spot on; and the pace is perfect! If you enjoy sarcasm and dark humor this is the book for you. I know I have a somewhat twisted sense of humor and I couldn't put it down. As the timer ticked down the last hour of the book, I grew concerned that I hadn't downloaded all of it. I didn't think that the author could possibly wrap everything up in that amount of time; but he did! And it was on the edge of your seat excitement until the last minute ticked by! If you have the stomach to root for a serial killer...Go for it!
