Historia
In The Return of the Gods, Cahn takes the listener on a journey from an ancient parable, the ancient inscriptions in Sumer, Assyria, and Babylonia that become the puzzle pieces behind what is taking place in our world to this day, specifically in America. The mystery involves the gods. Who are they? What are they? And is it possible that these beings, whose origins are from ancient times, are the unseen catalysts of modern culture?

Amazing “coincidences”!
Revisado: 02-03-25
Even though I wholeheartedly believe in the events and reality of the things Jonathan shows us in this book, it was startling to hear and understanding the intricate, true details that has and continues to come to be. There are just too many things to be either made up or “coincidence”. He is very, very gifted and blessed in his ability to present these things. Definitely important and timely for all of us today.

Astounding and true
Revisado: 01-24-25
Jonathan always backs what he says with scripture. I really enjoy reading his books and feel like it gives me Information that I don’t get anywhere else. He is confident, but humble and, I believe very brave.

Historia
Early in the Great War, men left Britain’s factories in droves to enlist. Struggling to keep up production, arsenals hired women to build the weapons the military urgently needed. “Be the Girl Behind the Man Behind the Gun,” the recruitment posters beckoned. Thousands of women—cooks, maids, shopgirls, and housewives—answered their nation’s call. These “munitionettes” worked grueling shifts often seven days a week, handling TNT and other explosives with little protective gear.

Typically wonderful book from Jennifer
Revisado: 11-01-24
I am always so impressed with the way that the author bring us characters to life. Even though they are fictional, she does such a good job of making them real.

The perfect next book
Revisado: 10-11-24
The weaving together of characters in this book is wonderful as usual. However, it could not have been more perfect than to get to hear the background of each of the new quilters coming into the circle. I just hope this is not the end the series. These books, get more intriguing and interesting with each new addition.

How in the world does Jennifer continue to make each story so wonderful?
Revisado: 09-26-24
Jennifer has such a gift for making the people seem so real. They have faults, they don’t always choose the right thing. They have good hearts, and realistic, self doubts, etc., etc. The story is written very, very well, as well as being read very very well. Thank you, Jennifer for another good book about Elm Creek quilts

Historia
In May 1875, Elizabeth Todd Edwards reels from news that her younger sister Mary, former first lady and widow of President Abraham Lincoln, has attempted suicide. Mary’s shocking act followed legal proceedings arranged by her eldest and only surviving son that declared her legally insane. Although they have long been estranged, Elizabeth knows Mary’s tenuous mental health has deteriorated through decades of trauma and loss. Yet is her suicide attempt truly the impulse of a deranged mind, or the desperate act of a sane woman terrified to be committed to an asylum?

Good characterization,
Revisado: 05-06-24
The different views of the character of Mrs. Lincoln provided a very rounded picture of her. The fact that so much history was included in the story. Put things in perspective very well. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to others.

In today's throwaway culture, there's a counter movement growing that urges us to 'make do and mend'. The Repair Shop has brought this waste-conscious message to an even wider audience, with its regular viewing figures of seven million in the UK alone, cementing itself as a classic series in the vein of Antiques Roadshow. This new book concentrates on the show's much-loved experts. Each of the experts shares their own stories and their repairs, capturing in the process the magic and ethos of the barn.

Very lovely stories
Revisado: 04-01-24
I really enjoyed listening to the reminiscence of the people who work there, as well as their history of how they got to the repair shop. Because I watch the show all the time, I would have preferred hearing the stories of each of the experts, in either their voice or something close to that, such as a woman for the women’s parts, etc. A thoroughly lovely book and engaging and delightful. It gave me a whole new appreciation for the cast of the show that I watch on TV.

The story was very good. I could’ve done with a lot less swearing, but on the other hand, it was interesting to listen to what happened to him. It gave me a very different view of the guy that I see on the show.

Revisado: 02-24-24
Well written, very engaging and difficult to put down. It was difficult not to imagine all of these women, as being very real even though many of them are fictional characters. This is a very insightful observation of a part of the war that most of us have no idea actually happened.

Revisado: 10-25-23
I love historic novels, and this one in particular gave a very different and excellent perspective on people involved in the Civil War. In addition, Jennifer Chiaverini Does her usual masterful interpretation and portrayal of historical events that is engaging as well as getting the reader a whole new idea to consider and enjoy about a particular time instead of events.
