Love the series
Revisado: 03-22-25
Although this series was written back in the 1970s and early 80s, I still love listening to it! I love hearing interesting parts of history of each state, especially now that I have gotten to travel some and been to most of them. The story was a little cheesy, just like it was when I read it 30 years ago, but it makes me feel like coming home. The narrator was fine, maybe not the best, but did a good job telling the story.

Heartbreaking & Heartwarming
Revisado: 03-14-25
I don't usually like books that the author also narrates, but I thought this one had the perfect narrator! I loved the love story, and the strength that it took to both write and tell the story of Lars & Amanda. As a 17 yr breast cancer survivor, it gave me a chance to see & really feel the side of the caregiver(s) of the person going thru cancer, and I can truly appreciate both sides. What a pillar of strength Amanda was to go thru each step with Lars! I learned a lot about leukemia, and am amazed at what a great writer/story this is!

Entertaining
Revisado: 03-12-25
This was an entertaining, fast read for me! I love a good second chance romance story. I thought the narrator was good, although not sure she was good for this particular book. The characters were fun getting to know, and I thought the story flowed well.

Loved the story and how it developed. David Bell is one of my new favorite authors ,and I was not disappointed with this book! The narrator did a great job with the story, and I was able to tell characters apart. Can't wait for my next D Bell read!

Another great LIsa Jewell story
Revisado: 03-11-25
I loved this Lisa Jewell story! This book was good, and had a few twists that I always expect from Lisa Jewell books! I had kind of guessed what was going on, but then something else threw me off and I thought I was wrong, and then went back to my original guess. Great job, Lisa Jewell!

From a young age, Mara Prentiss knew never to trust men. Her philandering father's antics and her mother's pain showed her all too well the kind of trouble love could bring. She's spent years practicing how to steel up against the kind of hurt a broken heart can cause, and she's yet to meet a man who could break down her defenses—until Sinclair Buchanan moves into her backyard.

Revisado: 03-11-25
I've always loved Janet Dailey, and was thrilled to find some of her original Americana series books on audible now. I love her characters, her strong males, and how the love story develops throughout the book. Loved listening to this book and it took me back to when I read the series the first time!

Pretty good book
Revisado: 03-11-25
This was my first book by Charlie Donlea, and I will read more of his books. I thought this book was pretty good, although I get tired of books who have a culprit in the line of business this person was in. Too many books like that, and it makes it predictable! I did enjoy the characters, and thought the narrator did a really good job. I'd also like a different ending!!

Historia
At twenty-one, Katherine "Kit" Bonner is the de facto manager of the Flying Eagle Ranch in the badlands of North Dakota. For three generations, the Bonners have tended the land and its cattle on behalf of its absentee owners—a family of English barons who seem to be more of a myth than anything else. So Kit is taken by surprise when the current baron, Reese Talbot, shows up announced. Deceived by his American accent, Kit mistakes Reese for a salesman and tries to send him packing. He, in turn, can't quite tell if the grimy, shapeless figure on horseback is a man or a woman.

Revisado: 02-25-25
I remember reading this book (and series) when I was young, and loved it then, and still love it now. Since then, I've only been able to listen to audiobooks due to failing eyesight, and was sooo excited to find several books from the Americana series, by the original Janet Dailey, here on audible! Love these characters and the story, and some special things about each state. I hope to keep finding more of these books here! Sweet romance without all the language of some books.

A different type of Lisa Jewell book
Revisado: 02-15-25
This book was different than the other Lisa Jewell books I've read, and although it was okay, it wasn't my type of book. I liked the characters, for the most part, but didn't care for the story all that much. I'm not much of a fantasy reader, so that is probably why. I did enjoy the narrator, very nice job! I love Lisa Jewell books in general, and will look for more, that aren't fantasy/superhhero type books.
