Historia
I Should Have Left the Whiskey is the first book in the Rambling On trilogy–compelling tales from a time when motorcycles were left in the shed and global exploration slowed to the pace of cycling. These diaries divulge two very different journeys in Asia: because progressing into enlightened India required some back-pedalling through darkest Thailand en route to China.

Another fun journey

Fun but rough start because he hated Sri Lanka. The switches between trip were a little bit hard to follow but otherwise a great book and always awesome audiobooks on to book 2! Thank you sir.

Historia
In Journeys North, legendary trail angel, thru hiker, and former PCTA board member Barney Scout Mann spins a compelling tale of six hikers on the Pacific Crest Trail in 2007 as they walk from Mexico to Canada. This ensemble story unfolds as these half-dozen hikers - including Barney and his wife, Sandy - trod north, slowly forming relationships and revealing their deepest secrets and aspirations. They face a once-in-a-generation drought and early severe winter storms that test their will in this bare-knuckled adventure.

fantastic
Revisado: 11-14-23
wonderful! storytelling exactly what I wanted. a real gritty journey story from the Pacific Crest trail, but also beautifully well-written peace describing so many lives that come together on the trail. I have yet to hike the entire PCT but have grown up around it in Oregon and Washington. but I only first learned about the Pacific trust trail when I was selling backpacks and ultralight camping gear at a little shop in Northern California and we would get requests to ship items to certain areas along the PCT. and suddenly I was introduced to the world of through hikers and speed hiking. it's fascinating and one day I hope to do it myself. thanks for writing a brilliant book

Historia
Last summer, The New Yorker published chef Anthony Bourdain's shocking, "Don't Eat Before Reading This." Now, the author uses the same "take-no-prisoners" attitude in his deliciously funny and shockingly delectable audiobook, sure to delight gourmands and philistines alike.

Historia
Turmoil in the Mideast convinces Glen and Julie to linger in the South Pacific, visiting primitive villages on remote islands. But hang on tight, because to finish their voyage, they must leave friendly shores and navigate through trouble in the Indian Ocean, Gulf of Aden, and the Red Sea before arriving in Europe. Full of dry wit and compelling descriptions, Julie takes the listener along for the ride of a lifetime in this sequel (book two of the Escape Series) to her previous best seller Escape from the Ordinary.

Fantastic audiobook, will listen again
Revisado: 03-24-22
What a great adventure not just sailing, but Julie and Glenn experience life abroad traveling around the world and experiencing American tragedy at a distance I really enjoyed hearing their perspective with the events of 9/11 and hurricane Katrina and all that happened in our world while they sailed around it. It took me a while to get used to the narrator because I listened to both books back to back. So it's always hard to switch to a diffent narrators voice and nuances. You get so connected to Julie's narrative that you believe it's her relaying the story. I highly recommend this to anyone who dreams of sailing or adventures in any form national or international. You won't be disappointed. I will go back and listen to both audiobooks again and enjoy travel while my kids are young. Dreaming of my wife and I doing more adventures like this someday... minus the trip through the red sea... no thanks.

Historia
Zane Grey, known and loved primarily for his Western novels, was an avid fisherman. When his writing started paying off, he managed to spend as many as three hundred days a year enjoying the sport. And while he is remembered for his record-breaking catches, such as the 464-pound marlin caught off the coast of Tahiti, Zane Grey also enjoyed freshwater fishing for bass, trout, steelhead, and salmon. In Tales of Freshwater Fishing, Grey recounts his expeditions on the Delaware River, off the West Coast of the United States, and in British Columbia.

fantastic fishing stories beautifully written
Revisado: 11-20-20
Such a great group of fishing stories. Incredible adventures of a time that is gone, when big steelhead runs were the standard in Oregon and beyond. It's fun to hear the author tell his own story and describe not only his highs and lows as a fisherman but also laugh along with him and his friends as they catch and lose so many amazing fish. The chapters based around his trips on the Rogue are epic and laugh out loud humor as he watches his boys learn to fish and paddle the great rapids they meet. Adventures on wild rivers that offered so much danger and discovery. I love Zane Grey's westerns but this was by far my favorite of all his books so far! Inspires me to take a trip with my son to teach him the ways and the adventures of a fisherman.
