Historia
Enemies emerge everywhere. Stagnation starts seeming standard. Results require Ruthlessness. Joe has been moving deeper into his study of ritual magic and further away from his combat team. He's learning more and more, but more often than not needs to choose between his research and squad leadership. Improving the town is a huge help to the guild, and they have been pushing to increase their power. Their rapid increases have not gone unnoticed. The guild receives an ultimatum, delivered by assassins and signed with blood.

Story was good but the narrator wasn't.
Revisado: 08-29-20
If you're thinking of getting this then you probably already know what to expect with the story, but the narrator; for me anyway, made this hard to listen to. His inflection was all over the place, and very inconsistent.
The book itself is consistent with the previous books and worth enjoying if you enjoyed the story up till this point.

If you're looking to try out the genre, this book is a great one to go with. Though it may set the bar a bit high for other books in the genre.

Not as entertaining as the previous books
Revisado: 06-04-20
This book was good, but I found to be a bit less entertaining then the previous books.
Mainly this story focuses on the character Sarah, and John isn't in the book till the last few chapters. Even though we're seeing a full book from a different view than normal, the book was still good and a fun listen.

Even better than book 3!
Revisado: 03-20-20
There is a small quality difference in some lines spoken, but to be honest it didn't bug me much, though it's noticable for sure. outside of that the narrator did an excellent job.
The story this time around was much more focused and didn't feel like the characters were being sidetracked, like in book 3.
The book does a wonderful job of showcasing the battlefield realms chaos, and the various powers. If you've finished books 1-3 there is no way you should miss this book. If you haven't read/listened to books 1-3, I'd recommend them as they are great litrpg books!

Historia
Joe has started to draw attention to himself and his abilities. While some of the attention is good and allows for personal growth, most of it is from various organizations that feel threatened by the sudden upswing of power that Joe's guild - The Wanderers - is attaining. As the threat to Earth begins to reach its peak, all of humanity has a choice: flee to Eternium, or stay for an uncertain future. Some stay, some go, some don't make the choice quickly enough.

If you have read/listened to books 1 & 2, then you already know the story and if you enjoy it. If you haven't read/listened to books 1 & 2, then you need to do so before even thinking about purchasing this book.
The narrator did a great job, and I found his work to be very pleasant. There was one mistake left in there the narrator messed up and re-read the line near the end of the book, but that is hardly an issue.

One day, six towers appear on Earth. Each one stands hundreds of stories tall, and are invulnerable to all attacks. At the base of each tower is a portal, welcoming in all who dare enter it. All sorts of magical monsters can be found inside the towers. Even treasure, magic, and superhuman strength can be acquired. The problem is that the towers aren't a friendly place. Even worse, the towers sometimes release waves of monsters to attack Earth. In the year 2083, there are only a hundred survivors. In one last attempt, they challenge the final floor without regard for their lives.

The narration is the best I've ever heard!
Revisado: 06-28-19
For me the highlight of this book was the incredible narration! Honestly, other than saying that the narration was perfect, I have no clue how to describe it.
The story itself is good. Personally I didn't like how slow the characters are at growing, but it's not badly paced, just slower than I was hoping.
