The story is campy. funny, engrossing. The characters are full of life and expressive. The narrator laughing while trying to read the lines hurt my stomach with laughter.

Felix, the slave owner, building an empire.

I hit replay the moment the book finished and listened again. I want book two now. Right now. Felix, who believes himself to be ruthless and indifferent, has a power that is increased with his ownership of other Supers. And they are for sale. I don't ever agree with someone owning slaves, but I'm not sure who owns who in the end.

Cliffhanger

It's an OK book. The characters don't seem to fight back against true adversity and I may have yelled at the speakers out loud a time or two. not sure I'm invested enough to find out how many books I'll have to buy to get to the end.

loved having the characters fleshed out, loved seeing them grow. bawled my eyes out almost the last two hours straight. laughed through out the story even more. can't wait for the next book.

Great story, great narrator. horrible sound tech

Loved the story, reminded me a bit of Terry Pratchett. Narrator too has a wonderful range of voices and inflections. However I was constantly playing with the sound volume. Hank's voice would be loud and the other characters would drop below a whisper.

Would you try another book from Rachel Vincent and/or Jennifer Van Dyck?

Probably not.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Different heroine whose emotions matches her circumstances. She just seemed not to think anything through. Some parts of the story were clichéd, some just downright 'convenient' for the storyline. Some of the heroine's reactions made me think she was still in grade school.

Which character – as performed by Jennifer Van Dyck – was your favorite?

Lucas - he was mostly believable.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

NO.

Charming, Blunt

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It's not often you get the guy's perspective, not the low down dirty secrets, the nasty truthful thoughts. I'd recommend this for a friend in the hopes that I would be there to watch her face as she listens to Drew spout off about men, women and how he has it all covered. Not.

What did you like best about this story?

The author and the narrator manage to sneak the reader into the locker room of an arrogant, self assured man's mind as he falls into the 'dark' side (of love). I found myself wanting to smack Drew, laugh at him and root for him all at the same time.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Drew's sister realizes that Drew hasn't had the flu for 7 days. or when his niece uses the calculator against him. or when Kate asks Drew how many ways his sister will kill him for buying the pony. or...well, one of those.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"A locker room's guide to falling in love. God help you." or "Drew had a strict rule book about Work and Woman. Until Kate used the book to start a bonfire."

A very hot and beautiful awakening to passion and love

Leo. Smart enough to reel her in and determined enough not to let anything stop him from having her.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Damn it, I cried. I hate crying. Then I listened to the whole book again.

Lisa Lutz has delivered another deliciously funny out take of Izzy's world. She's being blackmailed, pushed around by an old man and she can't find her car. I laughed so hard my nose ran. I'm already getting a tissue ready for her next book.
