Historia
New York, 1888. Gas lamps still flicker in the city streets, but the miracle of electric light is in its infancy. The person who controls the means to turn night into day will make history - and a vast fortune. A young untested lawyer named Paul Cravath, fresh out of Columbia Law School, takes a case that seems impossible to win. Paul's client, George Westinghouse, has been sued by Thomas Edison over a billion-dollar question: Who invented the lightbulb and holds the right to power the country?

Historically Entertaining
Revisado: 07-22-24
I would highly recommend this novel to readers of historical leaning. As the author explains in the coming comments that he has intentionaly compressed the timeline for purposes of the story. No harm, no foul. The twists and turns of the plot were interesting and entertaining. I enjoyed this novel immensely. Thanks are given to the author for this work.
I've been a carrer power engineer for 35 years, and have always been intrigued by the early days of the industry. America's electrical dominance began at Niagara Falls with the implementation of the world's first large power generating plant, utilizing hydro power as the prime mover.
I would urge the author to write again and focus on the Niagara Falls efforts. I'm sure there are equally good stories there.

Good Plots. Very Little Bad Language.
Revisado: 04-18-24
I've listened to eight of these stories now, and will get more. I got the four books boxed set (times two). It's getting increasingly more difficult to find a good story with decent language. All eight of the books meet this criteria. Highly recommended.

Historia
Leigh Collier has worked hard to build what looks like a normal life. She has a good job as a defense attorney, a daughter doing well in school, and even her divorce is relatively civilized - her life is just as unremarkable as she’d always hoped it would be. But Leigh’s ordinary life masks a childhood that was far from average...a childhood tarnished by secrets, broken by betrayal, and finally torn apart by a devastating act of violence.

I couldn't finish it. I got about half way through it.
Revisado: 03-21-24
I suspect that the author was paid extra by the CDC or other government agency to promote the covid propaganda. That, and the constant F-bombs and MF-bombs ruined an otherwise interesting story line. This has taught me to read ALL of the reviews before selecting a title. Audible seems to bury anything other than a glowing review way down at the bottom. When I went back and read the buried reviews, all of the things that I've brought up were well documented. I guess this review will go to the bottom as well.
Excellent narration. I can't fault that. I would hope that this talented narrator will be more selective as to what she chooses to read in the future.

Historia
In this brilliant book, Isabel Wilkerson gives us a masterful portrait of an unseen phenomenon in America as she explores, through an immersive, deeply researched narrative and stories about real people, how America today and throughout its history has been shaped by a hidden caste system, a rigid hierarchy of human rankings. Beautifully written, original, and revealing, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents is an eye-opening story of people and history, and a reexamination of what lies under the surface of ordinary lives and of American life today.

WOW....15 hours of Trump Derangement Syndrome
Revisado: 02-26-24
I'd like my credit back please. I could only take 20 minutes of the lies and half-truths. Total nonsense. The author would have you believe that the current globalist rule is some sort of American Caste System. Wow!! They are desperate for an explanation as to why their system is crumbling before their eyes, I guess. I'll be watching to see if Audible posts this review. If not, I'll cancel my subscription. This would show that they are part of the problem rather than part if the solution.

Wow.....such a good story. Might be my favorite to date
Revisado: 11-24-23
I like the novels with Bosch and the Lincoln Lawyer. Excellent interaction. This one is by far the best one yet. Bosch gets caught up on a noble cause. I almost gave up on this author over his Trump bashing. I guess he got the message.
Lots of twists and turns in this book. It will hold your interest. The story seems realistic. I got the new John Grisham book just before this one and was really disappointed with it. it didn't seem to even be his writing. This one......different story. Connelly at his best. Having multiple narrators was also a good touch. Get it today. You won't be sorry.

Revisado: 07-14-23
Highly recommended listening for anybody that cares about the future of America. A non-technical description of a highly technical topic.
I certainly hope that Mr. Lighthizer will go back into government service when DJT is re-elected in 2024. The country needs him to get us out of the mess we are currently in.

My first Kiss Concert was in 1976
Revisado: 03-29-23
I wasn't in on the first couple of years of Kiss. I joined at the Rock and Roll Over Tour Pont in late 1976....a few months before I left home to join the US Navy. The tickets cost $6,00 and it was for general admission at Greenville (SC) Memorial Coliseum. i saw Kiss three more times in California while stationed there. in 1976 I was an apprentice mechanic and making twice as much as Paul Stanley was making as the frontal of Kiss. I find that to be completely amazing.
I very much enjoyed this audio book. it's a window into a life of a rock star, but not what you would expect that life to be. Definitely worth listening to. Thanks for sharing Paul. Rock on!!

Historia
Ensor is no ordinary cop. He's a hero, winner of the Medal of Valor, devoted family man and coach, helping at-risk kids. But the driver who struck him down and didn't stop isn't ordinary either. He's Judge Frank Stevenson, up-and-coming member of the bench, also devoted to his wife and daughter, involved in charities and good works. In a split second he did something completely uncharacteristic that changes his life and the lives of everyone close to him.

Historia
Sam Johnstone was hoping for renewal when he took a job at a boutique law firm in rustic Wyoming. The mountains and streams of the West would be a refreshing, quiet place to start over after years of war and turmoil in his personal life. But after a local woman is brutally murdered, Sam realizes that things aren’t so quiet in this rural American town. The accused is one Tommy Olsen, a known delinquent who had been sleeping with the victim. Sam is repulsed by the crime and wants nothing to do with the case but meets with Tommy to make sure he has legal representation.
