I would suggest this is worth the read
Revisado: 02-13-17
Where does Dune rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
pretty high up. i think this is the first fiction book i've read. i enjoyed it.
What other book might you compare Dune to and why?
seems like they shared some themes with Star Wars. but i don't know.
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
i felt the readers did a great job at conveying the meaning of the written words. full dramatic affect was felt.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
no. kept my interest though.
Any additional comments?
book was worth the read. In spots it was a bit wordy. but i enjoyed it.

Too wordy...
Revisado: 01-13-17
Reader was excellent!!!!
Story was good
Writing was unnecessarily wordy.
Yes the author created a well written novel. I can't argue that. Just not my style. Annoying to listen to the wordiness...

Historia
Last seen sleeping off his wedding night in the back of a 1951 International Harvester pickup, Michael Perry is now living in a rickety Wisconsin farmhouse. Faced with 37 acres of fallen fences and overgrown fields, and informed by his pregnant wife that she intends to deliver their baby at home, Perry plumbs his unorthodox childhood - his city-bred parents took in more than 100 foster children while running a ramshackle dairy farm - for clues to how to proceed as a farmer, a husband, and a father.

Mixed Review
Revisado: 07-19-16
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
The book is little about farming and more a biography. kind of false advertising. hard to stay interested in the book...
What could Michael Perry have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
I would have liked the book if the author didn't try so hard to be witty. he would lose my attention anytime he started to describe things. long winded. just say it.. stop trying to be witty..
Have you listened to any of Michael Perry’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no
Was Coop worth the listening time?
mixed... felt it was hard to stay interested...

When he purchased four acres of land on Vashon Island, Kurt Timmermeister was only looking for an affordable home near the restaurants he ran in Seattle. But as he slowly settled into his new property, he became awakened to the connection between what he ate and where it came from: a hive of bees provided honey, a young cow could give fresh milk, an apple orchard allowed him to make vinegar.

Well, this writer got under my skin. I loved the story, but this writer is annoying. I also don't agree with his philosophies.

Historia
Breakfast of Champions (1973) provides frantic, scattershot satire and a collage of Vonnegut's obsessions. His recurring cast of characters and American landscape was perhaps the most controversial of his canon; it was felt by many at the time to be a disappointing successor to Slaughterhouse-Five, which had made Vonnegut's literary reputation.

Total Crap
Revisado: 02-10-16
What would have made Breakfast of Champions better?
a story line
What do you think your next listen will be?
not anything else by Kurt Vonnegut. I really enjoyed welcome to the monkey house and slaughterhouse 5, but this book was just awful. John Malkovich was awful as well. what a terrible voice to listen to..
Would you be willing to try another one of John Malkovich’s performances?
no
What character would you cut from Breakfast of Champions?
all
Any additional comments?
story line was all over the place. just a constant long description, so long you couldn't keep an interest in the story. this is total garbage. don't waste your time. all Vonnegut does is try to be witty.
