Historia
After her apprenticeship was done and a place in the guild of villains secured, Tori's life was supposed to get simpler. Unfortunately, a poorly timed errand sees Tori caught in the debut of a new team of capes, one wearing an all-too-familiar name. Thrust into the spotlight, Tori will have to navigate her unwanted fame as well as the suspiciously superheroic new neighbors down the hall, all while keeping up with her own villainous enterprises. With the guild no longer a secret, Hephaestus needs to grow as strong as possible to face her mounting threats.

Boring, edgy. Preachy nonsense
Revisado: 05-24-24
Lot of tell not much show. Drew Hayes doesn’t really know how to put a together a cohesive story with a suspense of disbelief. You have take your brain out and think like a edgelord. A boring one at that. Rutty dialogue. Convenient plot holes, moronic takes and whiny characters.

Pure garbage
Revisado: 02-12-24
This book was soo frustratingly bad. First of all, nothing justifies listening to this atrocious narrator. Secondly this book is just nonsense filler. Why you have to write three chapters to describe one scene is beyond me. Shows what a bad writer you are if word vomit is your go-to. And every other chapter is about someone or something that is unrelated to the current plot as well as being so poorly described and bogged down with nonsense there is really no point. Skip this book, skip this author. They’ve peaked and plummeted

He's headed to the top floor, on a mission to meet the goddess.

Just watch Sesame Street
Revisado: 07-21-23
Lot of reviews on endlessly praising this book but none mention just how childish it really is. The Sunday School humor paired with a spineless childlike-protagonist, makes for a boring listen.
Doesn’t help that the narrator is so engrossed with sounding like a preteen the book feels like you’re being read a children’s novel. Nick is more like a parody of a narrator.

Historia
It has been 20 years since the end of the war. The dictatorial Augurs, once thought of almost as gods, were overthrown and wiped out during the conflict, their much-feared powers mysteriously failing them. Those who had ruled under them, men and women with a lesser ability known as the Gift, avoided the Augurs' fate only by submitting themselves to the rebellion's Four Tenets.

Just soo boring.
Revisado: 07-09-23
Have you ever watched a superhero movie that made sure the superheros never used their powers? How about an epic fantasy in which the heroes only ever talk about doing something rather than actually do something?
This book is a slow paced bore, and it’s done on purpose. From chapter one the book does a pretty god job of neutering itself. Long conversations that go nowhere and trickle down exposition that offers zero interesting insight, do not help.
Don’t know what else to tell you, the book is a waste of time.

Torture porn.

Mark lawrence is most definitely a pervert who enjoys little girls being hurt, (I hope he doesn’t have children), because that is the entirety of this book. Thin plot, character development is near nonexistent and no redeeming chapters.

Weak B story and irrational decision making
Revisado: 05-06-23
Get the feeling this author doesn’t have a firm grasp on logic or common sense. Almost every major character suffers from a major lapse in judgment. Many times characters decide to do nothing, which leads to catastrophe every time, or they continue to do the same thing knowing full well the outcome. This vary lackluster story is very dependent on characters being stupid.
And please do not be fooled by the cover. There is very little action and even less dragons.

Seems like this story wasn’t written for any more context to the main series and it’s not that great on its own merit, so I don’t know why it was written?
