Historia
When Kyle Shanahan became the NFL's youngest offensive coordinator in 2008, he had one prevailing rule: Tell me the why. If a colleague couldn't justify his position by providing the unassailable reasoning behind it, he was told to get the hell out of Shanahan's office. Shanahan and the members of his coaching tree—including Sean McVay, Mike McDaniel, Raheem Morris, and Matt LaFleur—came up in a sport where innovation was the exception, not the rule. There had been brilliant football minds before, from Paul Brown to Bill Walsh to Bill Belichick.

We are living in the Wild West of college sports. Name, Image and Likeness endorsements, the transfer portal, collectives, conference realignment, the powerful influence of media companies have all rendered the notion of amateur athletics a quaint relic of the past, replaced by a Brave New World where money and self-interest rule. The Price is a sweeping, in-depth, thought-provoking look at an inflection point in big-time college football.

if you love football and appreciate the history of the United states, and this is a book I would highly recommend for you. but be prepared the narrator of this book is probably not as big of a football fan as you are, so you are warned about the poor pronunciations. despite all that, South palantonio does a great job with this book and I highly recommend it

Historians have long told the story of America’s birth as the triumph of Jefferson’s democratic ideals over the aristocratic intentions of Hamilton. Chernow presents an entirely different man, whose legendary ambitions were motivated not merely by self-interest but by passionate patriotism and a stubborn will to build the foundations of American prosperity and power.

Incredible and Insightful view of US History
Revisado: 03-19-23
this is more than just the biography of Alexander Hamilton, it's a introspective view into US History and Hamilton's unique experiences as America's first famous immigrant. even though the play "Hamilton" is based on this documentation of all Hamilton writings and accompanied history, this goes far beyond the context of the musical and gives the reader incredible insights into the raw realities of the world from 1760 to 1810 in a way that is abit uncomfortable but also enlightening

Historia
In this classic best seller, Florence Scovel Shinn helped to define the personal success genre. Written in the new thought tradition, her message is simple yet transformative - we receive back what we put into the world through our actions, energy, and attitudes. Negativity and pessimism are returned in kind, but by switching the script in favor of positive attitudes and affirmations, we are able to manifest success and joy in everything we do. Life, Shinn tells us, is not a battle of us against the world, but rather a game of giving and receiving.

Positive Self-belief meets Spirituality
Revisado: 03-19-23
this is a book for open-minded people who want to open themselves up to new possibilities. this book was written almost 100 years ago so, yes, some of the examples are odd in their tone and presentation. BUT there are some incredible lessons and reminders about Self-belief and commiting to a positive mentality. The use of biblical allegories and spiritual terminology can be weird for some people, but the lessons are universal and I find this book to be great perspective changer for the better

Historia
Stephen A. Smith has never been handed anything, nor was he an overnight success. Growing up poor in Queens, the son of Caribbean immigrants and the youngest of six children, he was a sports-obsessed kid who faced struggles, from undiagnosed dyslexia to getting enough cereal to fill his bowl. As a basketball player at Winston-Salem State University, he got a glimmer of his true calling when he wrote a newspaper column arguing for the retirement of his own Hall of Fame coach, Clarence Gaines.

Stephen A. Smith really opens up about his unusual journey to fame and success that is both eye opening and extremely candid. I was impressed hearing him admit what he did wrong and what he learned over the years. he is much more balanced of a human being than his on air persona can be perceived as and I appreciate his genuine perspective on life.

Historia
The superhero comic books that Marvel Comics has published since 1961 are, as Douglas Wolk notes, the longest continuous, self-contained work of fiction ever created: over half a million pages to date, and still growing. The Marvel story is a gigantic mountain smack in the middle of contemporary culture. Thousands of writers and artists have contributed to it. Everyone recognizes its protagonists: Spider-Man, the Avengers, the X-Men. Eighteen of the hundred highest-grossing movies of all time are based on parts of it. Yet not even the people telling the story have read the whole thing.

Marvel Comics polluted by Tinted Lenses
Revisado: 07-01-22
While I commend the author for his exhaustive work and his passion for the Marvel story, this books is full of his political views/perspectives and this author paints the Marvel story into his world views. the author omits or passively reviews Marvel stories that don't fit into his world views (examples iclncludes X-Men "God Loves, Man Kills", Jonathan Hickman's Fantastic Four "Future Foundation", Spiderman meets The One Above All almost 40 years after the Fantastic Four did the same, Kang and Apocalypse ties to Old Testament version of history). the author let's his distaste for "Ring Wing" politics redefine stories and interpellation of "Dark Reign" and both Civil War stories. as myself a Diehard Marvel fan, I walk away from this book Disappointed
