Hackneyed accent made it impossible to listen very long!

As a native Southerner, hearing “actors” mangle our speech patterns is like hearing nails carve up a chalkboard. Shame on the ignorance that chose this actor to represent some of the most cherished and iconic characters of Southern heritage. Not worth wasting a credit!

The time will soon come when Big Yun will leave that mortal coil and we will note a forlorn sigh leave our lips and , quite possibly, a few tears. Although I’ve never had the joy to meet this amazing man and he will never know I was here, but we share so much humanity! This book is a treasure as is Billy’s wife who narrates and writes this tome.
It is honest and touching and healing. And quite funny along the way.
Also recommended is Ms. Stevenson’s other book about this windswept “ beige avoider and detector” called “Billy” .

It’s been a long time since a story touched my heart the way Trevor Noah’s has in this book.
I have been a fan of this young man for many years, but I now cherish him! He comes from one hell of a proud line of people!
You owe it to yourself to explore this work. He will take you from laughter to tears to shock to horror and leave you feeling hopeful through it all. This is the story of a true hero and the amazing woman who helped create him. Kudos to them both!
His honesty and frankness is so beautifully woven into the narrative that it is now part of the tapestry that makes a great work of writing.
