LOVE STORY WORTH HEARING

If you enjoy a slow burn with a twist, you will enjoy this story. I was working while listening so I was just distracted enough that the twist caught me off guard. I like a story that leaves you thinking about the characters well after you have finished the book.

Twists and Turns Make it a Fun Story

My kids are 29 and 32 so I was disappointed at first when a good portion of the ground work for the story was about new moms and how exhausting it all is. My attitude was, yes, yes been there done that get on with the story. I am a true crime fanatic and a common statement when reading about true crime is - you can’t make this stuff up. That thought ran through my mind from time to time as I listened to the story. I feel that I am satisfied with a story if I can’t guess the outcome well in advance. This book kept me entertained and I can absolutely recommend it if you enjoy stories that have some twist and turns.

FUN STORY WITH A TWIST

The sex scenes are over the top for me but the story is great. The twist at the end was unexpectedly delightful. The performers kept the story flowing nicely. My overall rating of 4 out of five stars is because of the harshness of the sex scenes. You know how some writers have the ability to make sex scenes super hot? Some of the words used in this book actually made me cringe.
If you can get past that, this is an excellent story and a fun read.

ARE YOU READY FOR A FEEL GOOD SOTRY?

My grandfather read this book to me when I was about 10 years old. He would sit by my bed and read a chapter or three every night. It was so fun to hear how life in the 1800’s was so different from my life in the 1970’s at the time. It was so exciting to see how Judy evolved and where she ended up. If you are feeling a little blue and could use a feel good story for a change, this is it. Also, you can never go wrong when the story is narrated by Julia Whelan. She is a real treasure.

Enjoying the Story, Just bought Book 2

Enjoying the Story, Just bought Book 2because I can’t wait to see what happens next. Love the comparison to the Kennedy family. The sex scenes are steamy, which is always fun. This is a perfect beach book and fun summer intrigue.

Long Drives or Pesky Chores, This is the book!

I listen to a lot of books because it seems I'm always driving or hiking or doing pesky chores around the house. I started listening to this book one day as I was cleaning my house for a party. You know what that's like, right? It takes all day long because you know everyone is going to be judging you so you have to do a really good job? I pressed play and got to cleaning. I was drawn in right away. I like when I get drawn in instantly, not like in fifty shades of grey where you had to read a hundred pages before it started to get good (I still have never finished that trilogy).
Ms. Maldonado did a fabulous job developing the characters. I never once had to back up wondering which character she was talking about. She did such a good job describing the scene I could picture everything and each character perfectly in my mind. I can totally see young Jennifer Lopez playing the part of Nina in a movie version.
Ms. Hernandez knocked the characters out of the park. I knew exactly who was talking and I don't recall her ever falling out of character or carrying over into another character with her voice.
If you like stories that have a few twists and turns and a little suspense thrown in, then this book is well worth the credit. I'm excited that it is Book 1 and I can't wait for Book 2. I am a true crime fanatic and if you are too, this book will be right up your (fictional) alley.

I would recommend this audiobook because it is a great story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Freddie, she is endearing.

What does Christina Traister bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I feel Christina does a wonderful job overall though I do not like the voice she chose for the male lead. He sounds slow and goofy.
