surprisingly compelling

had lowered expectations from the title, pleasantly surprised at how good this story was. No swarmy story here, no fluff. There are moments that neared being tedious and explanatory, then leapt ahead in the action. I am richer for listening to this and am now contemplating the next.

most "Originals" I've listened to are way over-acted or politicized. This was a quick, fun listen w/o the usual innuendo. Glad I gave it a chance.

Fantastical story
Revisado: 09-30-20
Nothing about this story was within my realm of expectation or desire. And yet, after passing the minor normal story which happened at the start, this story takes off on a wonderfully disturbing and imaginative path. If its your desire to get off your current trail and wander in unexplored directions, than this book it recommended highly.

Historia
Set in present-day Los Angeles, Junk explores an epic conspiracy, one at work for thousands of years that involves total takeover of the planet Earth by aliens. In the wild, souped-up vision of Les Bohem - the acclaimed, Emmy-winning writer of the Steven Spielberg miniseries, Taken - the world is at the end stage of long-range plot that involves a gigantic genetic-engineering project. The aliens who have invaded us have no planet. No spaceship is coming. Instead, a small advance force comes, breeds, and dies - thus becoming an anomaly in our DNA that can’t be explained.

original and entertaining storyline

loved this book, although at rare times I lost track of the action. I feel the narrator did a good job, lacking some range in variations between characters. What a refreshing interlude to find an uncommon topic wrapped into an interesting and yes, exciting story. Well done!

Historia
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

couldn't wait for it to end
Revisado: 03-13-19
As a youth, I loved these stories and with me being a Neil Gaiman fan, just knew this book would be just as great. Instead, this book bored me to the point I was checking at each story to see if it was blessedly almost done. Factually it seemed on point, if not intentionally over-the-top, and being read by the Author was cool. This would probably be a much better set of stories (about the life of Odin, Thor, Loki, and their families) to a pre-teen than the adult I am.

Ancient Good vs Evil in the Old West
Revisado: 12-20-18
R.S. Belcher has his greatest hit yet with The Six Gun Tarot: Golgotha. Apocalyptic events center on the desolate town of Golgatha where dark conspirators pit the resurrection of their eternally shackled God against our beliefs and the existence of everything.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Allowed an engineers mind to wander
Revisado: 03-07-18
A most enjoyable story, had wanted to read the book prior to seeing the movie, but not the first time me hopes were dashed. While not exactly a rocket scientist, my working relationships with NASA make this particularly enjoyable. The language was surprisingly strong, did not offend me in private but this is not an audiobook I can freely loan out. The language does make it much more realistic than the movie, IMO. Due to this, seeing the movie before reading / listening to the book is probably the preferred method to experience this story.

In AD 1119, a group of nine crusaders became known as the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon - a militant monastic order charged with protecting pilgrims and caravans traveling on the roads to and from the Holy Land. In time, the Knights Templar would grow in power and, ultimately, be laid low. But a small offshoot of the Templars endure and have returned to the order's original mission: to defend the roads of the world and guard those who travel on them.

Kind of new to R.S. Belcher's writing, but a long time fan of Bronson Pinchot narration, was not disappointed. Story builds quickly, sostays strong, and left me wishing for a sequel.
Archaic secret brotherhoods, truckers, bike gangs, police, ritual and serial murders, children, occult, nerds, shadows, family, in breds, wikken, ancient gods.

Predictable
Revisado: 03-21-17
not sure if this is a mystery or a thriller or a detective story. It is lukewarm interesting, and though I did plug away to finish the story, it was taken off of the speaker system as the shop quickly tired of it. The premise is predictable, the characters obvious, and the entire story far too touchy-feely. I do not recommend this book for the majority of male readers
