Historia
Cressida Fawcett is heading to the English countryside for a weekend of cocktails and partying at her friend’s glamorous mansion, the location of a recent diamond heist. But just hours after her arrival, Cressida is woken by an almighty scream. Rushing to the landing, she looks down into the great hall to find a trembling maid standing next to the body of Harry, the friendly young chandelier cleaner. Everyone believes Harry’s death was an accident. But as Cressida examines the opulent hall and the beautiful grounds, she thinks something darker is afoot.

Idiot girl
Revisado: 11-20-24
I really wanted to like this one, but after a quarter way in, skipped to the end. The narrator was to slow but did capture Cressida’s empty headed guessing perfectly. The worst is she thinks she’s smart but doesn’t have the sense to pull it off

Okay, but needed help
Revisado: 11-20-24
It’s a good story and, for the most part, good mystery. However, the narrator spoke every line as if in a cheap thriller and it really took from the story. My other complaint was the heroine was a bit full of herself

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Everyone said it was good
Revisado: 10-17-23
Okay this was my first King novel and probably my last of all are as pointless as this terrible novel. The poor teacher goes through heck and succeeds, ruins his life, for nothing. The idea of an apocalyptic future no matter how he changes the past is dumb and old fashioned sci fi. Stupid and pointless. Personally I’d just stay in the past, life was better then. The visits to the past were well written, like being there, and engaging. But all it was a waist of time. Your left going what the heck! Well that was stupid. It wasn’t a beautiful love story because she died and then lived alone because the teacher didn’t stay in the past. The worst thing was he didn’t even save the Dunning family which is why he started this whole story.. big stupid waste of time.

Not worth it
Revisado: 05-21-23
I’m a huge fan of the ancient myths and I have Circe, which led me to this one. Not the same at all. The only thing they have in common is the myths are well researched. All other reviews kept saying “beautiful” no it is not. The horrible author depresses you from nearly the start, makes every male in there flat and brainless and every woman spiteful or petty. But the worst thing is her completely being a hypocrite. She rails about the injustice done to Medusa, which it was, then belittles Perseus for not wanting the same for his mother. And if the king is spiteful enough to marry her, he will rape her. It was the theme of the entire book. From page one even the wives are raped so it seems hypocritical of her to reduce the hero to what she did for not wanting that fate for his mother. It was her story so she could have actually had someone tell Perseus and then save Medusa. It’s a myth after all. She didn’t even give a bittersweet ending like Circe, instead it leaves one going.. what the heck, what a waist. Perseus is the only Greek hero to have a happy ending and she gave him a narrow minded stupid one and as for all the women. Very empty. Very pointless.

Revisado: 01-13-23
Okay I doubt this appears on the sight as I can’t be the only one who thought it was garbage!! Where to I begin! What could have been a really interesting story turned out to be nonsense and junk.. making JFK a Hilter of space.. the guy who wrote it must be racist in the other direction because the only halfway decent people are a Jew who dies, an Italian and several Black.. not African because no accent .. the so called heroine who is supposed to be witty and sassy is a drunk that sounds like a 50 year old with throat and lung cancer. After the scene where everyone at the state like dinner accept the black guy takes LSD. I skipped to the end and still got what happened. I did not laugh once. The worst part is how it mocked my God. Who in reality doesn’t see color race or creed, but loves us anyway. Please Audible do better

Historia
Said to be a changeling child left to the King and Queen of Cornwall, Gwendolyn is "blessed" at her cradle by three Fae gifts: a prophecy for her future, a gift of "Reflection," and a golden mane-quite literally, every lock of her hair will turn to gold, only provided it is cut by her one true love. Yet no one understands more than Gwendolyn that her blessings are actually curses. Any man who gazes upon her will see his own heart reflected in her countenance, and depending upon his virtue, she is the loveliest woman in all the land… or the most hideous.

Oh Good Grief
Revisado: 11-22-22
It sounds like it would be a good book, and the first few sentences aren’t bad. But then the ridiculous little girl does nothing but whine. She’s supposed to be 17, yet acts like a child. The whole of what I have heard is her jumping back and forth in an internal never ending debate. Her prejudice against the other romantic interest is childish and unfounded and after thinking she doesn’t see her other romantic interest in that way, invites him to swim with her. And the going on about her face. Big deal, as far as I can tell she’s not ugly or plain, it’s a curse that anyone can see their true self reflected. If the little idiot had half a brain she use to know who to trust and who not too. Instead she whines that her mother doesn’t love her. Can’t bare the site of her,.. no her mother cannot bare the site of herself. As nothing to do with the brat. Maybe it will get better

I’m one placement away from becoming a fully fledged London detective. It’s bad enough that my last assignment before I qualify is with Supernatural Squad. But that’s nothing compared to what happens next. Brutally murdered by an unknown assailant, I wake up 12 hours later in the morgue - and I’m very much alive. I don’t know how or why it happened. I don’t know who killed me. All I know is that they might try again.

Okay but a bit shallow
Revisado: 06-24-21
The mystery was far too easy, not only did I figure it out way before the heroine, but found her a bit dense. Any halfway decent sleuth would have known the boss was a victim not her killer, and the heroine also came off as to much like a teenager instead of my age. For someone top of her class and good at everything she does, she’s not a very good sleuth. The making it two separate cases was good. And unless the author intends to unveil new abilities with each book, she’s not that powerful and no mention was so ever of the Pheniox, which is why I got it. Maybe the stories will improve

I like the history
Revisado: 05-06-21
I’m a little more then a quarter of the way through so might edit this. I like the story and the characters and though it is long, does not seem so. The reason I am writing so early in the story is the weak and pour way the writer speaks of my God. I love Norse and Celtic myths, Greek, and Egyptian too.. but my God is my love. Christ is made to seem the weaker and meaner for the writers ignorance. Woman was never under valued by my God, indeed she is blessed. David did not win against Goliath because he was good, but because he had faith our Lord would and did, deliver him. And above all.. just because Jesus is a peaceful and died for us does not mean he isn’t a warrior.. David was the best, but what of Samson and Abraham and Joshua leading the armies that conquered the holy land.. for pity sake get it right. And He still is today

Historia
125 Gower Street, 1882. Sidney Grice once had a reputation as London's most perspicacious personal detective. But since his last case led an innocent man to the gallows, business has been light. Listless and depressed, Grice has taken to lying in the bath for hours, emerging in the evenings for a little dry toast and a lot of tea. Usually a voracious reader, he will pick up neither book nor newspaper. He has not even gathered the strength to reinsert his glass eye. His ward, March Middleton, has been left to dine alone.

Not nice
Revisado: 01-06-21
The first was long and I knew who,I hoped it would improve with the second. March, herself is like a mirror reflection of Deanna Raybourn s violet eyed trap, only not as smart. Gryce is sick, flat and not at all like Sherlock. There’s disgusting and then disgusting and both are in this book. The rich are rotten disguised as beautiful and the poor are repugnant disguised as rotten. No, really. The Primerose character eating the dead fly isn’t enough gothic and I like Theadora Gross’s Athena Club. Not one of her books as as much gore as this. The reader is good. The story itself might be good if it were cleaned up and refocused. I will be surprised if I listen to the end
