Sail away to sleep! The 45 minute length is plenty of time to lull one asleep.

Far better known for his film roles - Emma, Gosford Park, The Crown -- actor Jeremy Northam reads G. M. Hopkins so well! Also to remember, his father was a distinguished professor of English literature at Cambridge University. Hopkins is not an easy poet to understand: his poems must actually be rather difficult to read aloud competently because of so much alliteration, rhyme, etc. Mr. Northam does a wonderful job though, clear and yet warm. Wish he would record more poetry!

Supple and wholly convincing arguments and specific examples of falsity, cruelty, and absurdity of organized religion. Brilliant writing and voice.

Unusual for it's time and still today--this pathetic yet often humorous description of a bereft, aging, highly self-aware homosexual.

The day and evening of a Ball in the country thru the eyes of a naive but determined young woman. A pre-war miniature , closely observed. One of a trilogy, but only two on Audible. com.
" The Weather in the Streets", ,please!. Ms. Lumley just perfect in the narration . A fat cry from her brassy fashion model in "Absolutely Fabulous "

Not with a heavy pirate accent, but believable as all the characters -- the boy protagonist, Jim Hawkins, the Squire, the Doctor, ship's Captain, the buccaneers, etc. Mr, Molina enlivens each one. This has always been a rattling good yarn, and this version does full justice to the story. What a great plot! not so easy to create as one might think.

Narration moves along briskly, matching the classic, oft-copied tale. Makes one wish to go to sea!!

Truly outstanding interpretation and performance of the "ILIAD"! Alfred Molina makes this classic, the oldest in Western culture, really come to life and leave the classroom or private study behind. This is a controversial new translation by Prof. Stephen Mitchell and I did not know what to expect. I've read most of the other Homeric translations, even those that nobody bothers to read anymore -- Alexander Pope, Lord Derby, anyone? And yes, I've read the originals, too. When one gets over losing some of one's favorite lines, the action runs off like a galloping horse. I was totally caught up and involved in this production. Mr. Molina turns in a masculine yet nuanced narration, taking the parts of the different speakers in the story with believable effect. One of the most exciting, easily understood ILIADs ever.
