Any additional comments?

I prefer a little more reality as opposed to the supernatural turn . This was still a good read, but i would like less hallucinations.

Would you listen to Wonder again? Why?

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes. It brought out the insanity of burocracy and how the individual can be forgotten.

Would you be willing to try another book from Diane Guerrero and Michelle Burford ? Why or why not?

No. this was interesting, but not interesting enough to lead me to more of their works.

What does Diane Guerrero bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her expressions, laughter, and her own interpretations .

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Probably not.

Any additional comments?

This was an eye opener for me. I cannot see any government agency just abandoning a child. I would have thought they would have card for her somehow.

Would you listen to The Eaton again? Why?

No. The story was the thing. Once you know the story there is no point in going over it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sarah. She had the brains to survive and the guts to persevere.

What does Jeff Hays bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Drama

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, Neither one. It was more like a horrible fascination.

Any additional comments?

This is a good story. I think the author drug it out too long and made it impossible for the characters to survive. I also would have been happier if there were fewer F words. They are useless in giving the reader an idea of what the charactyer is feeling.

Not really

This is one of a kind.

Dull, dreary, lifeless. (Sorry)

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I wouldn't make a film of this book.

Any additional comments?

I know this is a classic, but couldn't it be read with a little more feeling? I would have liked it better if the reader had been a little more dramatic.

Where does Whistling Past the Graveyard rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is one of the best. Maybe even #1.

What other book might you compare Whistling Past the Graveyard to and why?

Fried Green Tomatoes. Because it shows southern life in a realistic way and promotes compassion for others.

What about Amy Rubinate’s performance did you like?

I loved her child like innocence in the reading of Starla.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, but I might have if I could have.

Any additional comments?

I think the author must have good memories of her childhood because she wrote with such understanding of a child's thinking. I also liked the fact that Starla was a champion for equal rights and fair play for everyone. This was a good example of a morally good person.
