Historia
Through the years, I lived more as an enigma than a man. For so long, I denied I had a beating heart of my own. Until her. Until she unearthed the starving vessel inside, forced me to acknowledge it, forced me to understand that I’m capable of bleeding the same as any other. For that, we paid. We're still paying. Yet she demands it still; the useless heart of the ruthless thief and shameless villain she fell for. My fear is that I’m no longer that man.

Historia
I thought being a Demon sucked, but being a Demon Goddess is a whole ’nother level. Life had been so much easier when I was just a forty-year-old has-been actress trying to make a comeback in the land of Botox and BS. For the love of everything absurd, I was just getting used to being a Demon … and BAM … all of a sudden I’m supposed to be one of the two gals in charge? I mean, being the co-star of the show is great until it involves ruling the Darkness with the evil whack job who destroyed my mother.

Repetitive
Revisado: 04-03-24
Like others have said, this book just seems excessively repetitive. If you've listened to other Robyn Peterman books, you already know the first chapter of the new book is the last chapter of the prior book. OK. Cool. But this book... it felt like she just kept hitting copy/paste from prior books. "Reliving Memories" and constantly telling prior stories as of to "refresh" the Readers (listeners) memories. I can't tell you how much of this book I skipped over, at times, it felt like full chapters.
As another user mentioned previously, I felt like I was getting scammed. I wondered to myself, if I bought the paperback, and took out all the pages that were "retelling" how much of the book would actually be left...
Ending on a good note, I love Robyn Peterman's stories. Her characters and story lines are absolutely wonderful. that being said, her books almost feel more like 'chapters' Rather than actual books. I'm going to give her one more go, because I found another title that caught my eye, but if it's anything like the end of this series, or the last book I listened to of "Good to the last death" series, I'm going to call it. As awesome as her stories are, I truly do feel like I'm being duped. There's *maybe* 2 hours of this book that are "new" to the story line. : (

Historia
Love had cut me in so many ways I wondered if my heart could take any more. But then I saw him. He was my boss. A single father. And to top it off he was insolent. I didn’t intend to want him, that wasn’t my objective. But somehow I couldn’t say no. We shouldn’t have worked, but like witchcraft, I was under his spell. My heart’s been destroyed before. I’m not sure it can handle heartbreak again.

Wow... Beautiful
Revisado: 07-29-23
If you've been following this story and found it... lacking or slow in anyway, make sure you finish it. The final book is wonderful. Beautiful. Tears. Holy goodness sakes. That was worth sticking it out for.

Historia
I would like to say we were old lovers. That once upon a time he was my everything, and I was his, but that would be a lie. He may have been mine, but I wasn’t his. I was his sister’s annoying little friend who he didn’t even know was in love with him. Years later, after seeing him again for the first time, nothing has changed. Except now, he notices me, and I will do everything in my power to avoid him. Because Falcon is the most conceited man on this planet, and because when he looks at me with steel eyes, my heart still misses a beat.

Had to immediately come to the reviews to see if anyone else noticed the huge flaw in mistaking Echo's girlfriends name. If you've been following the series, you'll know. Especially since the last book was based on Echo. And that was a great book.
I agree with others. The male narrator was tough to listen to, but not the worst I've heard. Definitely not ending the book because of it. But also, I feel like it fits the character. Has the same attitude.
Really enjoying the female lead. But this book, similar to the first, is a slow burn. Which is just fine. You can feel the chase more. And maybe relate more?
All in all, it feels like this series in general was rushed for delivery. I've read other by TL and loved them. This one almost feels forced. Everything is there, but nothing is elaborated on... if that makes sense?

If God created the perfect man he would closely resemble Creed - on the outside, that is. He’s as cavalier as they come. Unconcerned. Cold. Dismissive. I wonder if he has any feelings at all. And when his lips touch mine, everything goes black. He takes me into his world, and it’s the most magical thing I’ve ever experienced. And I’m sucked in time and time again. Like a moth to the flame, I am ready to be set alight.

Don't listen to negative reviews.
Revisado: 07-24-23
First of all .. if you don't read dark romance, then just say that. Don't judge the book because you didn't like the content. It's clearly a "dark romance"...All those who commented negatively about the crime part.. the crime part of this book is MINIMAL. I assure you. You really want to see crime, read the Bellandi Crime Syndicate series (HOT and TWISTED). OR BETTER YET, from this author, The Chained Hearts Duet Series... Lucas is RUTHLESS.... and also amazing.
That being said, this book was good. Struggling to decide if I want to go on to the next book, but I already purchased the series. So, I probably will.
This is a SLOW BURN book. For sure. I did enjoy the characters, but they felt... minimal. I've read A LOT of dark romance books. I really enjoy the story line of this series, I just feel like more details could've been included. The book felt... slow, very slow, then rushed. If you know, you know.
**spoiler***
You can see the pregnancy coming, though... really? And then everything rushes ahead. The book leaves off when they find out the sex of the baby. That's it. Then it jumps to another character? As I said, I'll probably be reading the next one, because it's already in my library. But, wtf? I hope there's more in the next one to cover the gaps in this one.
I liked the first series I read from this author, but this book let me down a bit compared to previous work of hers.

Journalist Caroline Preston arrives at Serve, New York City's hottest BDSM club, with one goal-to hate it. If her brother wasn't trying to turn the family's respectable financial magazine into a publication that features "lifestyle" pieces for the wealthy and adventurous, she wouldn't even be there, trying to write an article about a world she doesn't understand.

Haven't finished yet, but had to write a review
Revisado: 02-11-23
I'm on chapter 7, hoping I'll be able to update or add later. I came to this book because of Katee Robert. If you're a fan of hers, you'll understand.
I have to admit that the first chapter's narration is cringy. So much so, that I came rushing to read reviews, wondering why I downloaded the title. Don't pay attention to those reviews.
I then went to Amazon to look up the title, try and return it. I read the reviews there too. Those reviews made me give it a second chance. If you can make it to chapter 2, you'll enjoy it.
The author definitely could've chosen wiser on a narrator (no offense - just the tone and reading) but overall, it picks up and the story line is SO GOOD.
Jonah is a great character. I'm still figuring out Caroline, but I'm loving it.

Historia
This edgy, pause-register saga isn't just a trilogy, it's an enthralling listening experience, a non-stop roller coaster ride of emotion that will keep you on the edge of your seat, giving you cliffhanger after cliffhanger until the final, jaw-dropping climax. You will be on pins and needles as Selena Kitt plays cat and mouse with you, the listener. You'll find yourself asking - am I listening to a romance? A coming-of-age tale of sexual awakening in the Puritanical, repressed late 1950s?

If you're looking for hot and pushing boundaries
Revisado: 01-28-20
I just finished all 3 books. So many twists and turns, but very hot. The story line was one of the best I've read in a long time. Only the very end was predictable, but it was a great ending none the less. I can see why it was banned but that's why I loved it. Just downloaded another set from the same author, Selena Kitt. Keep them coming!!!
