Historia
Piper Sullivan was in a strange hiking accident last month and has been in a coma ever since. Her older sister, Savannah, can’t pretend to be optimistic about it; things look bad. Piper will likely never wake up, and Savannah will never get any answers about what exactly happened. But then Savannah finds a note in Piper’s locker, inviting Piper to a meeting of their school’s wilderness club—at the very place and on the very day that she fell. Which means there was a chance that Piper wasn’t alone.

The story overall was good. It was compelling with twists and turns; however, it missed the mark and felt rushed at the end. The climax was disappointing. But it was still a good read. Just not my favorite plot twist.

Historia
On January 14, 2018, a 17-year-old girl climbed out of the window of her Perris, California home and dialed 911 with shaking fingers. Struggling to stay calm, she told the operator that she and her 12 siblings - ranging in age from two to 29 - were being abused by their parents. When the dispatcher asked for her address, the girl hesitated. "I've never been out," she stammered.

Revisado: 02-09-24
So much potential to be a good book. They go into the backstory of the parents. However, if you’re looking for any evaluation of the entire situation, don’t read this book. They repeat the same facts at least 10 times. I’m not even sure if a person wrote this or if it was compiled by AI. It reads like those horrible Clickbait ads. 90% of this is filler and/or repetition, and 10% is the actual information you’re looking for.

While this is a dark subject matter, it is handled with Thonus, tactfulness and caring. It’s definitely a good read, especially if you’re planning to travel to parks, but even if you aren’t… My children are enjoying this book just as much as I am. Write down to my nine-year-old.

Historia
Growing up on the Navajo Indian Reservation, David Crow and his siblings idolized their dad. Tall, strong, smart, and brave, the self-taught Cherokee regaled his family with stories of his World War II feats. But as time passed, David discovered the other side of Thurston Crow, the ex-con with his own code of ethics that justified cruelty, violence, lies - even murder. A shrewd con artist with a genius IQ, Thurston intimidated David with beatings to coerce him into doing his criminal bidding. David's mom, too mentally ill to care for her children, couldn't protect him.

Cliche, you can kind of guess the result. The sexual stuff was cringy and uncomfortable. The beginning of the book was cheesy, the middle was mundane, the last few chapters were easily guessed.
