My 11 yr old son read this book in a day, so I picked up the audiobook to try to keep up with him, wanting to have conversations with him on the material he reads. It was not surprising that Patterson did a great job, and wrote an easy-read action novel for tween readers. I love it when - especially my sons - get hooked on a book and series. enjoyed the listen!

We enjoyed the book on a long car ride as a family. The book seemed to reach a climax midway, then it took just as long to reach the end, so in that regard it was long. We expected it to end much sooner than it did. Definitely a favorite for the kids. Loved the way the author used other books in the narrative.

enjoyed this so much - the religious connections between our present world and the world of the middle ages was well articulated and made this a great book for conversation even with my 9 year old. excellent read!

I have read another of Backman ' s books, and it was far more optimistic from the start. this one took me a while - the drudgery of knowing Ove initially was almost more than I could stand. but then I was just completely in love with these characters and this community. great read, well written, well read!
