Old school Tom Clancy
Revisado: 12-23-24
Well written book which reads like an original Tom Clancy book of the 70s and 80s. Like how the story brings the next new hero into the light.

Historia
The Communist Chinese leadership decides to move up their timetable to become the world’s sole superpower from 2049 to the present. Part of this is to unify Taiwan by force. They believe the best model for accomplishing their wider goals is to copy the comprehensive moves by Imperial Japan. The CCP/PLA thinks they can replicate the successes of the Japanese, while at the same time eliminating the failures. By means of subterfuge, they strike their East Asian neighbors, Western Pacific sea lanes, and the key American naval bases, relying on advanced missile and drone technology.

Could have been a great book but ….
Revisado: 12-11-24
This could have been a really good book to listen to. However it is filled with too much filler time to extend its length. Really disappointed with the ending of the story as unrealistic.

Historia
US intelligence is reporting turmoil in the Russian navy. Their deadliest submarine, the Belgorod, has unexpectedly launched, and taken along with it a long list of questions. Who authorized the departure? What mission is it on? And, most disturbing of all, what weapons do the giant doors on the sub’s bow hide? It's been four decades since a similar incident with the Soviet sub, Red October, ended happily, thanks to a young CIA analyst named Jack Ryan.

Changing the narrator on book 4 is never good
- De Mathias Bergen en 06-20-20
The absolute worst read book in history
Revisado: 08-08-23
Truly disappointing. The first 3 in the series were good. However book 4 is not from the same writers. It’s poor written, tries to create story lines in too few sentences and extremely POORLY READ.
Having listen to well over 500 books I can say the reading was atrocious. Not sure I want to bother with the final 2 books.

Historia
“Homecoming” takes us back to Ford County, the fictional setting of many of John Grisham’s unforgettable stories. Jake Brigance is back, but he’s not in the courtroom. He’s called upon to help an old friend, Mack Stafford, a former lawyer in Clanton, who three years earlier became a local legend when he stole money from his clients, divorced his wife, filed for bankruptcy, and left his family in the middle of the night, never to be heard from again—until now. Now Mack is back, and he’s leaning on his old pals, Jake and Harry Rex, to help him return. His homecoming does not go as planned.

What a total flop. Feel ripped off.
Revisado: 10-29-22
What a Total Flop. Cannot express how disappointing this book is. 3 short stories that I did not expect. Only the first was good but stopped abruptly, changing into book 2 like it was part of the first.
Has John Grisham lost his touch ? or getting lazy. Not sure but will need to think long and hard before buying another book from him.
