Sooo good!
Revisado: 09-23-24
This is one of the best books I’ve read in a while. I was engrossed from the beginning. Great characters and world building, excellent narration. It’s also a unique magic system which was refreshing.

Not as good as first
Revisado: 04-05-24
I really loved the first book but the second one gets too bogged down with sex that the plot takes a back seat. The characters, story, and world building are all great. The - you are my mate, I possess you… let’s have weird kinky sex - part I could do without.

Very basic
Revisado: 03-03-24
This is so simplistic. It’s like it was written by a middle schooler. The narration is way too perky.

Beautifully written and narrated
Revisado: 06-15-22
This book was fascinating and the writing beautiful. Most of all, the narration was one of the best I’ve ever heard. I have over 900 titles in my library and I have to say Mary Jane Wells is a master. Her performance was perfection.

Couldn’t get past a few chapters
Revisado: 07-22-21
I don’t like reading books that are just a grouping of letters and texts as a general rule, but listening is way worse. It does not lend itself to audiobook format, especially having to listed to the email to and from, re, .com…. Etc. The little sound clip every time a text is sent was soooo annoying.
Also, the narrator isn’t skilled enough for this. Everyone sounds the same except for the American character is slightly different because the accent sounds like a very strange blurring of British, Australian and Boston.
I had to stop less than an hour in.

Loved it
Revisado: 03-17-21
I am not sure why there are so many bad reviews saying there isn’t a real ending. I disagree and definitely think she tied everything up nicely. I loved the story and I loved all the characters’ stories within the story and how they relate to each other. I have enjoyed all her books and this one didn’t disappoint.

Strange choice of narrator
Revisado: 05-10-19
Overall I liked this book. I had a hard time following the story at times. It might be because the narrator's accent was so thick I got distracted and her cadence was not natural. Sometimes it sounded like a little kid learning to read - with strange pauses and an unnatural rhythm. She also pronounced certain words with such a thick accent that I had to think about what she just said.
The narrator really distracted me and didn't compliment the story.
