Historia
Where Paul of Dune picked up the saga directly after the events of Dune, The Winds of Dune begins after the events of Dune Messiah. Paul has walked off into the sand, blind, and is presumed dead. Jessica and Gurney are on Caladan; Alia is trying to hold the Imperial government together with Duncan; Mohiam is dead at the hands of Stilgar; Irulan is imprisoned. Paul's former friend, Bronso of Ix, now seems to be leading opposition to the House of Atreides.

More than expected, even for dune standards.
Revisado: 11-10-20
The characterization, story development, and callbacks more than exceeded my expectations. In these intermediary books between the main story, the goal is to give more details but this went far beyond simple characterization and details. Its a great book that expands the universe and gives us more stories about the characters we love.

Historia
Constantin Valdor. It is a name that brings forth images of heroism, honour and peerless duty. For it is he who commands the will of the Legio Custodes that most esteemed and dedicated cadre of elite warriors. He is the Emperor’s sword, His shield, His banner and he knows no equal. Clad in shining auramite, his fist clenched around the haft of his Guardian Spear, he is the bulwark against all enemies of the throne, within or without. Nearing the end of the wars of Unity, Valdor’s courage and purpose is put to the test as never before.

One of the best 40k
Revisado: 04-17-20
The voice actors and, production value, and story were all some of the best i’ve heard. I’ve listened to alot of 40k stories and the writing in this one itself would warrant a 5 star rating. Its was interesting all the way through and develops the lore and background in a way many books miss but it does it without the tedium many stories have. Its a great book and the actors give it emotion and life even to characters that are inherently less social (custodes). All in all one of the best stories i’ve listened too.
Complaints- six hours isnt enough i want more.
Mixed- details can be missed very easily though this can be a major bonus for the lore community.
Side characters can come from nowhere with little relevance which can bog down the story at times but still enjoyable.
