Historia
Joe Goldberg is no stranger to hiding bodies. In the past 10 years, this 30-something has buried four of them, collateral damage in his quest for love. Now he's heading west to Los Angeles, the city of second chances, determined to put his past behind him. In Hollywood, Joe blends in effortlessly with the other young upstarts. He eats guac, works in a bookstore, and flirts with a journalist neighbor. But while others seem fixated on their own reflections, Joe can't stop looking over his shoulder.

Dark. Delicious narrative.
Revisado: 04-10-16
I found myself sucked into the sociopathic perspective, and unsure of who to root for. Brilliant story. brilliantly told and narrated. I found this, because I wanted to redownload the first book and listen again. Instead I was delighted to discover the sequel, and it is at least as good as the first.

Historia
As the Empire reels from its critical defeats at the Battle of Endor, the Rebel Alliance—now a fledgling New Republic—presses its advantage by hunting down the enemy’s scattered forces before they can regroup and retaliate. But above the remote planet Akiva, an ominous show of the enemy’s strength is unfolding. Out on a lone reconnaissance mission, pilot Wedge Antilles watches Imperial Star Destroyers gather like birds of prey circling for a kill, but he’s taken captive before he can report back to the New Republic leaders.

Nearly Unbearable
Revisado: 09-05-15
I'm not sure if I can finish this audio production. I'm going to try, and if I do I'll be sure to update the review, provided it grows more positive.
This is partly my fault for preordering a book that had no preview option. If I could have listened, I'd have gone with the hardcover instead. There's a huge difference between an unabridged novel and a dramatized production. Unfortunately, that difference appears to be lost.
The audio production renders the story as something I struggle to listen to. While I have enjoyed numerous dramatic readings here on audible (example: anything with Wil Wheaton) I strongly prefer the text to speak for itself. Even though the music, sound effects. and so on are brilliantly mixed, they distract from the words of the book. I'm reminded of reading the Thrawn trilogy for the first time. I could hear the music playing in my head. Literally hearing it here has the opposite intended effrct.
I can tell Marc Thompson is a talented voice actor, his performance has to match that of the production, and it comes off as overly dramatic. bordering on campy.
I'm about an hour and a half in, and still don't have enough of a feel on the story or characters to comment. if I hadn't already paid for the audible version, I'd either grab the hardcover or kindle instead. Still might.
I want to like this so much. I've previewed a couple of other Star Wars audio books and they seem to have the same problem. Guess I won't be listening to any of them.

Historia
Duke and Earl are just passing through Rockwood county in their pick-up truck when they stop at the Diner for a quick bite to eat. They aren't planning to stick around-until Loretta, the eatery's owner, offers them $100 to take care of her zombie problem. Given that Duke is a werewolf and Earl's a vampire, this looks right up their alley. But the shambling dead are just the tip of a particularly spiky iceberg.

I laughed out loud several times. The characters were brought to life by the fantastic narration. Even the dead ones. I'll be doing several more A Lee Martinez books. Immediately.

Didn't care for the Journaling method of storytelling. It meant that the narrator was the only character the reader really got to know. Also, the story really didn't add much to the zombie genre. It was all pretty straightforward and cliche.

Historia
Our favorite white trash zombie, Angel Crawford, has enough problems of her own, what with dealing with her alcoholic, deadbeat dad, issues with her not-quite boyfriend, the zombie mafia, industrial espionage, and evil corporations. Oh, and it’s raining, and won’t let up. But things get even crazier when a zombie movie starts filming in town, and Angel begins to suspect that it’s not just the plot of the movie that's rotten. Soon she's fighting her way through mud, blood, bullets, and intrigue, even as zombies, both real and fake, prowl the streets.

Zuper. But...
Revisado: 07-20-15
The story is just as good as the others in this series. Angel's character continues to develop in unexpected ways.
The narrator usually does a good job, and all things considered that continues here. However, I'm convinced that somewhere in the production (around chp 10 or so ) she caught a cold. I might not have noticed, but stone portions of the audio were obviously recorded at different times, either before her cold or more likely after. The contrast is stark and draws me out of the story.
I'll still be sure to pick up book 4. This is a fun series read by a talented narrator.

Historia
In a series of blog posts, Smith chronicled his process toward ghost writing a 70,000-word novel for a traditional publisher in just 10 days. He wrote about his progress, his feelings about the writing, and how he approached and overcame obstacles. This book takes readers on a journey that demonstrates that writing fast, and writing well, comes from motivation and practice.

Good for what it is
Revisado: 06-15-15
DWS is an inspiration. I just wish this had been more prepared for audio. The blog posts state that the best info is found in the answers to questions in the comments.
This is more what writing fast looks like in practice than it is instructional. Still glad I listened.

This is not as great as you might think it would be - sure, you can go shopping in Japan and then have tea in London, but it's hard to keep a secret like that. And there are people, dangerous people, who work for governments and have guns, who want to make you do just this one thing for them. And when you're a teenage girl things get even more complicated. High school. Boys. Global climate change, refugees, and genocide. Orbital mechanics.
