Arguing only way characters interact.
Revisado: 06-16-21
Arguing is author's only way to have characters interact. Irrational decisions lead to inane bickering. Decent plot with different take on ZA but characters only emotion is anger leading to whining.

What can beer teach us about biology, history, and the natural world? From ancient Mesopotamian fermentation practices to the resurgent American craft brewery, authors Rob DeSalle and Ian Tattersall peruse the historical record and traverse the globe for engaging and often surprising stories about beer. They explain how we came to drink beer, what ingredients combine to give beers their distinctive flavors, how beer's chemistry works at the molecular level, and how various societies have regulated the production and consumption of beer.

More chemistry and biology than history.
Revisado: 05-26-19
The book covers more explanation of scientific methods than actual history of beer. The same book could written substituting potatoes for beer and the main focus in explaining the scientific methods used would be the same.

Great story but annoying production. Didn't like the way that used "talking into a can" for flash backs.

Good ending but using same plot device 2 not
Revisado: 05-08-18
A good ending but having 2 different groups go over wall twice was weak writing. Also helicopter blades disintegrate when in contact with even human bodies.

Quit while you're ahead
Revisado: 05-10-17
The author should have quit at the end of book 5 when he finished the original story. The story in the 6 book and the new series has too many unbelievable things happening even for a science fiction book.

Plot holes in 3rd book hurts overall rating.
Revisado: 03-21-15
Good idea overall. Like having slow zombies with newer 28 Days kind. A good series until the last couple of chapters when to make subplots for a sequel a couple characters make idiotic choices so they can have their own story in next book. Why introduce two possible love story plots only to have one from each decide to leave on suicide mission?

Annoying main character
Revisado: 09-03-14
What disappointed you about The Reaper Virus?
The main character is an annoying guy. He either spaces out and doesn't pay attention or gets hyper worried about doing something dumb that gets him killed before he gets home. In the end you are actually rooting for him to die.
Would you ever listen to anything by Nathan Barnes again?
Too many uses of the same analogy and meatphors so probably not. Also logic flaws in what he has main character do.
Did Basil Sands do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Ok for what he was given.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Not really
