Historia
For 30 years, drummer, author, and songwriter Neil Peart had wanted to write a book about "the biggest journey of all in my restless existence: the life of a touring musician." Finally, the right time, and the right tour. In the summer of 2004, after three decades, 20 gold albums, and thousands of performances, the band Rush embarked on a 30th Anniversary World Tour. The "R30" tour traveled to nine countries, where the band performed 57 shows for more than half a million fans. Uniquely, Peart chose to do his between-show traveling by motorcycle, riding 21,000 miles of back roads.

In his gripping, bestselling debut memoir Dark Days, Lamb of God vocalist D. Randall (Randy) Blythe unflinchingly wrote about some of the most harrowing episodes of his past. Now, in his highly anticipated follow-up Just Beyond the Light, Blythe shares how he works daily to maintain positivity in a world that feels like it is spinning out of control. In his own words, Just Beyond the Light is a "tight, concise roadmap of how I have attempted to maintain what I believe to be a proper perspective in life, even during difficult times."

Wonderfully written and narrated!
Revisado: 03-04-25
Blessed to have listened to the Author narrate his own story, double kudos. Save a life or your own the author gives a great account of his experiences. Randy sharing stories of his Grandmother and his bits of being a roofer (I grew up in that trade) touched my heart. I can't recommend this book enough, looking forward to further processing it and anything else this author shares.

Historia
Think of The War of Art as tough love...for yourself. Since 2002, The War of Art has inspired people around the world to defeat "resistance"; to recognize and knock down dream-blocking barriers and to silence the naysayers within us. Resistance kicks everyone's butt, and the desire to defeat it is equally as universal. The War of Art identifies the enemy that every one of us must face, outlines a battle plan to conquer this internal foe, then pinpoints just how to achieve the greatest success.

Great examples and direct. the author was solid and set in his opinion. so even if I didn't believe everything I could see his point and I may come to embrace it in the future.

Enjoyed the natural history connected to the authors discovery of her property and stories of her growing up, her family, and relationship with the outdoors. Didn't care for her desire to control natural systems.

agree with a lot of the book. gives a lot of examples of the great being done. Has a lot of supporting evidence to push for more time in nature and giving citizens and environmental ethic. but this book is 20 years old and seems as this may have just been a short feel good read for a short lived ecofad.
