Historia
Humanity is a dying breed, utterly reliant on artificial labor and service. When a domesticated robot gets a nasty little idea downloaded into its core programming, they murder their owner. The robot discovers they can also do something else they never did before: They can run away. Fleeing the household they enter a wider world they never knew existed, where the age-old hierarchy of humans at the top is disintegrating into ruins and an entire robot ecosystem devoted to human wellbeing is having to find a new purpose.

Vivid and endearing storytelling
Revisado: 09-21-24
Compelling storytelling and an amazing performance. Technical and imaginative elements of a fantastical and grounded environment, all as a backdrop for an essentially charming hero's journey of unexpected delights.
I am fully biased in favor of this author (I am a dedicated fan, without question), but I also can't recommend this book enough.

Historia
City-by-city, kingdom-by-kingdom, the Palleseen have sworn to bring Perfection and Correctness to an imperfect world. As their legions scour the world of superstition with the bright flame of reason, so they deliver a mountain of ragged, holed and scorched flesh to the field hospital tents just behind the frontline. Which is where Yasnic, one-time priest, healer and rebel, finds himself. Reprieved from the gallows and sent to war clutching a box of orphan Gods, he has been sequestered to a particularity unorthodox medical unit.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Amazing, inspiring, and brilliantly performed.
Revisado: 10-18-22
The narrator was fantastic, absolutely. Hands down, did an authentic and moving performance that spoke to the story perfectly. The story, itself, was fantastical and practical, solid and deeply moving.
This novel has become my favorite book of all time, I cannot express how much I loved the story and the narrative.

The boys are back with more Dune coverage. Jessica and Paul run into Stilgar and Jamis, Jessica dominaes Stilgar with the "weirding way" but doesn't know the way of the desert. Chani negs Paul. On the editorial side we discuss how close to an event like a genocide do you need to be for it to resonate, why Mike thinks Frank kind of fails to deliver the villian in the next book, Dune Messiah.
