Historia
Once the Sith order teemed with followers. But their rivalries divided them in endless battles for supremacy - until one dark lord at last united the Sith in the quest to enslave the galaxy and exterminate the Jedi. Yet it would fall to another, far more powerful than the entire Brotherhood of Darkness, to ultimately realize the full potential of the Sith, and wield the awesome power of the dark side as never before.

What a great story of the Darkside of the force

This fleshing out of the opposite of the typical Pollyanna view of Star Wars is refreshing. I look into the origin, story, character, base, and filling in the gaps of the original story is really good. Highly recommend this series.

Such a great story coming full circle
Revisado: 01-17-24
As a child, I remember seeing the first movie. I’ve seen every movie since then, and it’s always been in the back of my mind, but there was a big section stories that were missing. This audiobook is completed a good section of those things were in my mind as questions And I’ll recommend it to all other Star Wars fans that I know

Unsatisfying storyline
Revisado: 12-15-23
Where to begin. Most won’t mind another Black Company story I’m sure. The problem with this book is that it’s disjointed and clunky. Unlike many of the other books this one seems unnecessary to fill in blanks. If the author wanted to continue the Croaker led saga then imagine a way to have him and Lady finding a way to morph himself from the demon body into a real man again. Then have the relatives of the killed goddess raise up an army of dark monsters led by demons chase them back into the north country. Where they have to choose between releasing the Dominator into the world or something else.

Historia
From the Audie-nominated narrator of The Martian. In eleven years' time, a million members of an alien race will arrive at Earth. Years before they enter orbit, their approach will be announced by the flare of a thousand flames in the sky, their ships' huge engines burning hard to slow them from the vast speeds needed to cross interstellar space. These foreboding lights will shine in our night sky like new stars, getting ever brighter until they outshine even the sun, casting ominous shadows and banishing the night until they suddenly blink out.

Great Story Arc
Revisado: 05-22-23
It starts slow and took a bit to get past some of the minutiae but once engaged the story flows really well. The narration is flawless and I’ve followed this story teller for awhile now leading me to some pretty good books.

George Orwell's classic satire of the Russian Revolution is an intimate part of our contemporary culture, quoted so often that we tend to forget who wrote the original words! This must-read is also a must-listen!

Solid story with a lot more explanation
Revisado: 01-15-23
The audio of this book is really great. It has a lot more explanation of the background of characters, means and methods and also fleshing out more of the limits of things that go bump in the night.

Historia
To take a skeptical approach to American history is not to dabble in imaginative conspiracy theories; rather, it's to reframe your understanding of this great nation's past and actually strengthen your appreciation for what makes American history such a fascinating chapter in the larger story of Western civilization. And in this bold 24-lecture series, you can do just that.

Always an agenda
Revisado: 04-07-22
There's no denying the man knows what he's talking about, but he cherry picks what he needs to craft his narrative to confirm his bias. Example: using a personal journal from a person in the past that recounts an event. He uses that single piece of evidence as "proof" that an event went like the person describes. He's obviously never played a game of Chinese telephone. It is faulty logic and sloppy.
The agenda? Wanting the reader to feel disgust, depressed, and ultimately embarrassed about being an American. It comes through every paragraph clear as day

It grieves to say it but this story could easily have been properly edited to about 3/4 it's size. The performance was flawless.

Revisado: 01-05-22
at first I'm not going to lie, I thought it was more of a negative type of book because of all the bad things pointed out against tourists, hookers, and the nightlife in Thailand. by the end of the book, series, my eyes were opened to the fact that often being a "good guy" is the same in the west as it is in the east.

Historia
Thomas Covenant is a leper, a bitter and solitary pariah who is mystically transported to another Earth where time moves differently than ours, one in which magic takes many forms. The Land is threatened by many evils, the most immediate of which is a maddened Cavewight whose subterranean excavations have unearthed the ancient and puissant Staff of Law. More dangerous to the free people of the Land is the Gray Slayer, Lord Foul, the Despiser, who intends to destroy the actual foundations of the Earth that he might wage war against the universe’s creator.

Presentation great, story meh
Revisado: 05-07-21
the one thing you expect in a fantasy story is a hero and villain that are clear. in this story the hero is a whiner, useless, raping scumbag. The villain is vague and not really engaging until the very end and only then laughs. The minor villain turns out to be almost as whiney as the hero. Maybe this sets the stage for further books, but by itself is pretty weak IMO.
