Historia
Lina Meisel, a retired librarian in Florida, is reading the newspaper one morning when she freezes. Her eyes lock on a photograph of a book she hasn’t seen in 65 years - a book she recognizes as The Book of Lost Names. The accompanying article discusses the looting of libraries by the Nazis across Europe during World War II - an experience Lina remembers well - and the search to reunite people with the texts stolen from them so long ago. The book in the photograph is one of the most fascinating cases.

Important, New & Different WW Ii Story
Revisado: 04-02-25
Outstanding, horrific yet new WW II book based on a true story. I was especially interested in the variety of characters, personalities, stories, and values that are part of the book. All the characters came across as so real, and the stories so vivid. Very well written, and it is so worth the”listen”.

Historia
When the Chambers sisters receive an invitation from their jet-setting aunt to spend the entire month of December at the family's cabin in Asheville, North Carolina, they have one question—why? The retreat, tucked into the Blue Ridge Mountains, may be the site of many happy childhood holidays and summers, but it also holds sad memories. The sisters and their aunt have spent twenty-five years avoiding the cabin and renting it to strangers. Why would Aunt Elizabeth want her "dearest darling" nieces to put their busy lives in three different states on hold and spend a month in the mountains?

Warning: unrevealed Christian content
Revisado: 12-29-24
The book summary you must review before purchasing and reading this in Audible fails to mention the strong spiritual Christian content. I enjoy Christian novels when I know what I’m getting and can choose what I want to read. The Audible summary for this book fails that criteria completely.

Historia
Peter is a Dublin lawyer in his thirties—successful, competent, and apparently unassailable. But in the wake of their father’s death, he’s medicating himself to sleep and struggling to manage his relationships with two very different women—his enduring first love, Sylvia, and Naomi, a college student for whom life is one long joke. Ivan is a twenty-two-year-old competitive chess player. He has always seen himself as socially awkward, a loner, the antithesis of his glib elder brother. Now, in the early weeks of his bereavement, Ivan meets Margaret.

Love Replaces Judgment
Revisado: 12-05-24
Interesting family dynamics, and relationship issues. Not because they are so unusual, but because they are typical and ultimately resolved. Well developed characters with typical relationships and issues of a nuclear family as it ages and grows. Wonderful to see how family friction can be resolved when love and affection replace judgment and scorn. Great “read”.

Historia
Lucy Lang isn't looking for fireworks. She's looking for a nice, decent man. Someone who'll mow the lawn, flip chicken on the barbecue, teach their future children to play soccer. But most important: someone who won't inspire the slightest stirring in her heart - or anywhere else. A young widow, Lucy can't risk that kind of loss again. But sharing her life with a cat named Fat Mikey and the Black Widows at the family bakery isn't enough either.

Disappointing!
Revisado: 08-17-24
I wanted to like the protagonist, Lucy, a young widow. I wanted to like the storyline of how Lucy resolves her overwhelming grief. I didn’t like either. Lucy is selfish and self consumed. Even the final plot resolution is all about what Lucy wants, when Lucy wants it, determined that the scores of family and friends attending a family celebration at the family’s restaurant can just wait till Lucy gets what Lucy finally realizes Lucy wants at the exact moment when Lucy FINALLY realizes she wants it. Not even close to the quality and interest of Kristen’s other books.

Historia
For Dee Kwan, every day is the perfect day. No, really. She has a house she loves, a job she adores, and a ridiculously attractive “nemesis” who never seems to mind when she wins their favorite online game. How can life possibly get better? (It can’t, obviously. It can only get much, much worse.) Soon Dee is forced to share her adorably cozy home with her parents and estranged grandmother. Then she’s tossed into the deep end at work, tasked with cleaning up a scandal for the intimidatingly chic luxury fashion firm Celeste. If that weren’t enough, she discovers her hot nemesis works there, too.

Timely But Dissappointing
Revisado: 07-08-24
Love the continued development of characters. Especially like the side plot of Jake Kemper. The plot/story was initially unexpected, compelling, emotional and intriguing. But the final outcome of the story was predictable and consequently a little flat. This Tier One story seemed unnecessarily unfinished to me. So what comes next for JD?

Historia
It's 1999, and Eira Hart and Ru Tattersall are set up to co-host The Lonely Harts Club, a new late-night radio show to help New Yorkers find love. It's a last chance attempt for both Eira, expert in Celtic mythology and amateur Welsh matchmaker, and Ru, once-hot-shot Aussie DJ, to achieve their New York dreams. The thing is, you either click with a co-host, or you don’t. It’s a bit like falling in love. There’s co-host chemistry, or there isn’t. With the countdown to a new millennium, it feels like the world as they know it is about to end.

Great Ending!
Revisado: 06-06-24
If you’re considering this book, you’ve likely read it predecessors. Unlike some of the earlier books in this series, the reasons for the killings, and the murderers, are not clear until the end, and when they are, the twist and turns are outstanding. And as always, the author’s love and respect for the north woods and Native American culture is noteworthy and educational. You will enjoy this installment in the Corcoran O’Connor mysteries.
