Historia
Katherine lives in the shadows of her village. Injured as a child, she isn't a suitable match for marriage. So, instead, she dedicates herself to having some purpose in the town. Stitching people up after Gluttony has his way with them makes her realize she could be more of a solution than a problem. So she makes the trek up to his castle and offers him a deal he cannot refuse. Her blood, unlimited, if he will leave the rest of her town alone.

Revisado: 04-22-25
I have read and or listened to several Emma Hamm books and this is so far the one I am most disappointed in. As usual, the male and female protagonists are both lovable and endearing. Gluttony is perhaps the most endearing MC I have ever read about. He is kind, he is gentle and he is somewhat of an introvert, something that I identify with. He is absolutely not a monster. I felt as if this book was just a bridge book and not a complete book; in that it was only simply meant to introduce Envy in book 4. Gluttony's character was very basic even though I feel that Gluttony should have been a very complex being. Even Katherine's character was way more complex than his. The character of Gluttony was very predictable, and I felt very dissatisfied because I kept expecting to read about a very complex and thoughtful character, but instead I got a handsome, self-loathing, red-eyed vampire. His name should have been self-loathing not Gluttony because he was not a glutton in any way. I really liked his character, I also really liked Katherine's character and I am quite sad that he was mistreated this way. Both of these characters were very endearing and I felt a sense of emptiness after reading the book. I like reading Emma Hamm's books because the male protagonists tend to be very strong, funny, incredibly strange, yet sincere and dashingly handsome. The female characters are always strong and smart, even when they are vulnerable. I have never felt dissatisfied with any Emma Hamm female character, as they are always the kind of women I wouldn't mind being myself; i.e compassionate, passionate, super intelligent, super strong in their own right, have a sense of agency, intuitive, introspective and so on..... They also do not wallow in their weakness or mediocrity. They rarely if ever cry..... (an act I find infuriating, except in rare circumstances). I just love her female protagonists, starting with Mira from Whispers of the deep.
The narrators were once again wonderful, but even they couldn't save this book from being a bit less than averagely satisfying.

When I see her, I have to have her. The one they call Shelby. But the humans have not given her to us. She remains behind the walls of the facility they have reclaimed. She remains with a male that does not deserve her. This beautiful, enchanting creature with long black braids and bright eyes needs a real male, a master, a true protector. She needs me. I will do whatever it takes to claim her. I’ll kill. I’ll lie. I’ll steal. No human, naga, or otherwise will keep us apart. Tonight, Shelby will be in my arms. To hell with the rest.

Female voice is extremely whiny
Revisado: 03-27-25
The female voice is so annoying. The plot of this is actually better than the last two books. There is actual story other than rut rut rut. But I had to listen to the female voice at 2x speed because of how incredibly whiny that voice is. It's so irritating. But overall, a great story indeed

Historia
Having somehow convinced Lady Annika Jenoure to marry him, all Finlay Ashowan wants to do is settle down, cook some good meals, and enjoy a quiet life in Daxaria. But fate has different plans. Fin’s father, Aidan Helmer, fire witch and servant of King Matthias of Troivack, has arrived in the kingdom with devastating news: Annika’s brother Charles has been taken prisoner, and the only way his life will be spared is if Annika or Fin goes to plead his case. Given that an attack from Troivack is imminent, there’s no way some trickery isn’t involved in this plot.

Historia
As a child, Selene was left at the foot of the White Tower—given to the sorceresses who train those with magic. Her life has been spent honing her powers. But she can't fully join their ranks until she fulfills a single, impossible task: bring the Demon King, Lust, to his knees. Lust has ruled his kingdom for centuries. He is the reason his people live without remorse and indulge in their senses. Life is mundane and boring… until he runs into a dark-haired enchantress with eyes the color of the night sky. With one whispered sentence, she changes everything. I'm the beginning of something new.

Interesting
Revisado: 02-12-25
Very interesting. The performance made the story more interesting than perhaps if I had read it, instead of listened to it. But it's definitely good when you just want to chill. Emma Hamm is a very good writer/author.

Historia
As a wielder of domestic magic, Finlay Ashowan likes to keep his affairs as neat and orderly as his kitchen. But between his work for the King and Queen of Daxaria and a new (secret) relationship with Lady Annika Jenoure, his life is anything but tidy. For one thing, if Annika and Fin are to continue their romance, they’ll need to sort out the pesky issue of Fin’s being a commoner—before Annika is forced into a political marriage that interferes with her own carefully laid plans. For another, pressure is mounting as the war with Troivack draws ever closer.

Nice and sweet. Short diversion. A great read for short flights and trips, or just a day at the beach. I read books only for HEAs and this did not disappoint at all.

Revisado: 12-04-24
This is Excellence. I cannot even fathom the next scenarios, whereas I usually can. But this book is just that magnificent. I am so grateful to the tiny voice that told me to buy this. Enthralling. Just enthralling. The voice performance is excellent. The cadence, tempo, tone was perfection. Funniest book I ever listened to or read this year and I read at least four books a week. The wit, the banter...... Read it if not for the story, just the wit. This is excence in storytelling.
Valroy is crazy.

Revisado: 11-11-24
I dont like reading about weak women. They irritate me. If you are into damsels in distress, who need to constantly be saved and whom men would easily use as playthings....... this is the book for you. Take this nonsense book back audible. I want my credit back.

Boring compilation of stereotypes
Revisado: 10-04-24
This book could have been a one page essay or two minute audio novella. This is not a good representation of Tiffany Roberts creativity. Boring as all hell. Ridiculous and patronizing.

Historia
The alien lord holding me prisoner is the most powerful being I've ever encountered. A winged immortal who can kill with a mere wave of his hand. He's arrogant and alien. Demanding and dangerous. Brutal, even beautiful, though I hate him too much to admit it. He hates me, too. But even though my captor despises me, he needs me. He requires a bride for political reasons, and he makes me an offer I have no choice but to accept. Marry him, play the part of his happy wife, and he'll give me the one thing I want most—my freedom.

FMC is super annoying
Revisado: 10-02-24
I had to listen to this book at 1.5 speed and even sometimes at 2.0 speed. The FMC is super childish and throws tantrums like a toddler. She doesn't appear to have the intelligence or temperament of an astrophysicist. More like she quit high school to join her boyfriends travelling Rock band. She sounds like a woman who makes bad and stupid decisions every day, and is illogical to the point of downright idiot. I couldn't take it. I tried to skip most chapters.
