If You Like Jeffrey Deaver...
Revisado: 05-24-24
Great story. I'm hard pressed to be impressed nowadays and this one paid off. Kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. story moved along at a good pace. I didn't drift off listening to it like I do with many audibles. if you like Jeffrey Deaver, this is very similar in drawing you in and surprises keep coming.

Historia
Wedding planner Kelsey McKenna is just a few hours away from wrapping up her latest job: a destination wedding in San Miguel de Allende. But just as the priest is about to pronounce the couple husband and wife, one of the bridesmaids collapses into a floral arrangement. Worst of all, Kelsey discovers that she hasn't just fainted - she's dead. Mrs. Abernathy demands that Kelsey fix the matter, and although she's pretty sure investigating a murder isn't in her contract, crossing the well-connected mother of the bride could be a career killer.

Most Cozies Don't Have a Strong First Book
Revisado: 11-04-23
The premise and the environment of the stories were fairly interesting. The main issue that I found was that all of the characters of the kind of flat. While they all have distinct personalities the only one that really stood out as interesting was Kelsey's gay friend who was very hanging and without him I think the story would have lacked. For a cozy mystery there was a bit too much scattering as far as errors theories regarding who the murderer was, and I'm not a fan of romance, but I kind of felt that would have been best saved for book 3 or 4. not having read book 2 yet, I can't tell the context of the relationship, if there will any, but I'll stick with the series. I liked the idea, but really hope the overbearing mother-in-law isn't making another appearance. I wanted to smack her too.

Easy to listen to and keep up with

Very good for a first book in a series. different from what I'm used to reading, and I liked that. Few characters, so not hard to keep track of a bunch of people and try to remember who's who. Loved the narrator. Kept my attention. Looking forward to the second book.
